Sylpheed is an e-mail client and news reader based on GTK+ GUI toolkit, and runs on X Window System. The appearance and interface are similar to some popular e-mail clients for Windows, such as Outlook Express, Becky!, and Datula. The interface is also designed to emulate the Emacs-based mailers, and almost all commands are accessible with the keyboard. Supported protocols: POP3, IMAP4rev1, SMTP, NNTP, SSL/TLSv1 (POP3, SMTP, IMAP4rev1, NNTP), IPv6.

MailWasher bietet in der Free-Version Unterstützung für 1 Mailkonto.

Eingehende Mails können als Preview vor dem Runterladen gelesen werden und natürlich auch direkt auf dem Server gelöscht werden. Gegen Spam gibt es einen lernfähigen Filter, sowie Black- und White-Listen. Ebenfalls interessant ist die Möglichkeit, bounce-Meldungen an die Absender zu versenden.

MailCheck überprüft eine beliebige Anzahl an POP3-Postfächern auf neu eingetroffene Emails. Bei Neuzugängen in der Inbox schlägt die Freeware optisch und auf Wunsch auch akustisch Alarm.

MailCheck zeigt den Anwendern zudem eine Vorschau der elektronischen Post an. Anhand dieses Previews kann man Spam und andere unerwünschte Nachrichten direkt vom Server entfernen. Außerdem startet man bei Bedarf ein frei wählbares Mailprogramm.

Da die Vorschau von MailCheck nur reinen Text darstellt, läuft man hier keine Gefahr, versehentlich Schadprogramm wie Viren oder Dialer zu aktivieren. Praktischerweise läuft das kostenlose Mailprogramm auch ohne Installation von USB-Sticks aus.

- TLS V1.2 Unterstuetzung hinzugefuegt. Diese kann unter "Server bearbeiten"
  im Reiter "Protokolloptionen" aktiviert werden. Die waehrend der letzten
  Abfrage verwendete TLS-Protokollversion wird ebenfalls dort angezeigt.

- Korrektur bei der Anzeige von Balloon-Tips, wenn auf kleinen Bildschirmen
  eine vergroesserte Textdarstellung eingestellt ist.
- Installationsprogramm kann die automatische Abfrage nach neuen MailCheck-
  Versionen aktivieren.
- MailCheck und das Installationsprogramm sind nun digital signiert.

NK2Edit edits the "auto-complete" entries in Microsoft Outlook. Auto-complete is a useful feature to automatically suggest items based on the first few letters of the recipient, but over time can gather invalid or unwanted contacts. The name comes from the .N2K file extension Outlook saves this email list to.

A 64-bit version (only for using with Outlook 2010 64-bit) is available.

Mit FossaMail haben die Macher von PaleMoon ein auf Thunderbird aufgesetztes Mailprogramm erstellt, welches als 32- und 64-bit Version zur Verfügung steht. Sollte Thunderbird bereits verwendet werden, wird von FossaMail das existierende Profil genutzt, so das man sich mit der Einrichtung nicht aufhalten muss.

    Change of the core scripting and rendering back-end to Pale Moon 25.1! FossaMail is now completely based on Pale Moon, using it as the "engine" to drive the mail/news client.     This also means FossaMail can no longer be considered a "re-build of Mozilla Thunderbird".
