Nee , das ist schon mehr als nur ein Defrag-Tool.

Die Lebensdauer einer SSD hängt stark davon ab, wie viele Lese- und Schreibzyklen man ihr in der täglichen Arbeit zumutet. Da eine SSD von Hause aus schnell ist, sollte man die Funktionen wie Prefetch der Superfetch aussschalten, die häufig benutzte Dateien im Zwischenspeicher vorrätig halten. Mit einer SSD bringt das aber keinen spürbaren Geschwindigkeitsvorteil mehr und erhöht nur unnötig die Schreibvorgänge.

Auch der Windows-Indexierungsdienst wird mit einer SSD nicht mehr unbedingt benötigt, Suchanfragen auf der SSD, sind auch ohne einen Index schnell genug. Mit Tweak-SSD schaltet man den Dienst ab.

Leider sind die nützlichen TRIM-Optimierungen nur in der kostenpflichtigen Version verfügbar. Über TRIM-Befehle kann einer SSD beispielsweise mitgeteilt werden, dass ein freigewordener Speicherblock nicht sofort wieder benutzt wird. So kann die Abnutzung gleichmäßig auf die ganze Festplatte verteilt werden und einzelne Bereiche werden nicht überbeansprucht.

Hard Disk Validator is a portable utility for testing your hard drive identifying bad sectors.

This tool gives the details on bad sectors so that you can attempt to repair them. Your hard drive writes data in block units (sectors), every time your hard drive updates a sector, it will also update a checksum which is stored immediately after the sector data. When a sector is read from your hard drive, the sector checksum should match the sector data. When this doesn't happen correctly, the hard disk recognizes that something went wrong during the write operation - that occurrence is called a bad sector. There are many causes for a bad sector like a power failure during a write operation or a hard drive malfunction.
