Problem mit dem PDF Drucker behoben

Ein aktuelles Windows Update hat dazu geführt, dass der PDF Drucker nicht mehr korrekt funktioniert hat. Druckaufträge steckten in der Warteschlange fest. Wir haben das Problem analysiert und behoben. Alle Nutzer, die Probleme mit dem PDF Drucker haben, sollte auf die aktuelle Version 9.2.0 umsteigen.

Problem mit Metadaten und PDF/A behoben

Beim ändern der Metadaten bei PDF/A Dateien gab es Probleme. Diese Version behebt ein Problem in diesem Bereich.

PDF Drucker Treiber Beschreibung verbessert

In der PPD Datei, die den PDF Drucker beschreibt, gab es kleine Probleme. Diese wurden behoben. Weiterhin wurden kleinere Verbesserungen vorgenommen. Die minimale Seitengröße wurde z.b. weiter reduziert, was für die Label-Produktion teilweise sinnvoll ist.

Verbesserungen beim Laden vieler Datei im Creator

Im Creator gab es Verbesserungen beim Laden vieler Dateien. Teilweise war die Darstellung nicht korrekt und die UI wurde langsam, wenn mehrere hundert Dateien geladen wurden.

Downloads-Ordner im Creator-Seitenbaum

Der Downloads-Ordner ist nun im Seitenbaum des Creators aufgeführt. So ist es leichter, diesen Ordner zu finden, denn viele Dateien kommen aus dem Internet und landen im Downloads-Ordner.

Updater verbessert

Es wurden viele Verbesserungen beim Updater vorgenommen, die für die Zukunft nötig werden. Der Updater ist nun deutlich flexibler, was bei der Wahl des richtigen Updates nötig ist. In Zukunft wird es z.b. auch x64-Versionen geben und der Updater muss hier die richtige Architektur auswählen.

Passwortabfrage beim Speichern einer PDF

Die Speicherprofile haben eine neue Option bekommen. Man kann nun einstellen, dass Passwörter abgefragt werden, wenn ein PDF erstellt wird. Auf diese Weise kann man die Passwörter immer wider neu setzen und damit jeder PDF ein anderes Passwort geben.

    Some users have reported that there are problems with 256 bit encryption. We have investigated this. The problem does not seem to affect all users, because on our test systems we could not reproduce the problem. Version 9.2.1 provides a workaround for this problem, so that the 256 encryption is running again on the computers that reported problems.

Ghostscript erstellt PostScript- sowie PDF-Dateien und bereitet diese für Bildschirmansicht und Druck auf. Auch eine Konvertierung von PostScript-Dateien in PDF-Dokumente und gängige Bildformate ist mit dem Tool möglich. Die etwas umständliche Bedienung per Kommandozeile lässt sich mit grafischen Bedienoberlächen wie GSView oder GhostView umgehen. Ghostscript harmoniert prima mit FreePDF XP zum kostenlosen Erstellen von PDF-Dokumenten.

    The most obvious change is the (re-)introduction of the patch level to the version number, this helps facilitate a revised policy on handling security related issues.

    We have added the capability to build with the Tesseract OCR engine. In such a build, new devices are available (pdfocr8/pdfocr24/pdfocr32) which render the output file to an image, OCR that image, and output the image "wrapped" up as a PDF file, with the OCR generated text information included as "invisible" text (in PDF terms, text rendering mode 3).
    Due to some patches to the Tesseract sources that are required (integrated upstream, but awaiting release), time constraints, and the experimental nature of the feature, we only support including Tesseract from source, not linking to Tesseract shared libraries. Whether we add this capability will be largely dependant on community demand for the feature.
    We have added Python bindings for the gsapi interface, can be found in demos/python. These are experimental, and we welcome feedback from interested developers.
    For those integrating Ghostscript/GhostPDL via the gsapi interface, we have added new capabilities to that, specifically in terms of setting and interrogating device parameters. These, along with the existing interface calls, are documented in: Ghostscript Interpreter API
    IMPORTANT: In consultation with a representative of (OpenPrinting) it is our intention to deprecate and, in the not distant future, remove the OpenPrinting Vector/Raster Printer Drivers (that is, the opvp and oprp devices).
    If you rely on either of these devices, please get in touch with us, so we can discuss your use case, and revise our plans accordingly.
    IMPORTANT: We have forked LittleCMS2 into LittleCMS2mt (the "mt" indicating "multi-thread"). LCMS2 is not thread safe and cannot be made thread safe without breaking the ABI. Our fork will be thread safe and include performance enhancements (these changes have all be been offered and rejected upstream). We will maintain compatibility between Ghostscript and LCMS2 for a time, but not in perpetuity. If there is sufficient interest, our fork will be available as its own package separately from Ghostscript (and MuPDF).

doPDF is a free PDF converter for both personal and commercial use. Using doPDF you can create PDF files by selecting the "Print" command from virtually any application. With one click you can convert your Microsoft Excel, Word or PowerPoint documents or your emails and favorite web sites to PDF files. doPDF is a free PDF converter, it is not a PDF viewer. To view PDF files you will need the free Adobe Reader.

doPDF installs itself as a virtual PDF printer driver so after a successful installation will appear in your Printers and Faxes list. To convert to PDF, you just have to print the document to doPDF, the free pdf converter. Open a document (with Microsoft Word, WordPad, NotePad or any other software), choose Print and select doPDF. It will ask you where to save the PDF file and when finished, the PDF file will be automatically opened in your default PDF viewer.
