« Antwort #255 am: 25 Juni, 2020, 04:20 »
Changelog

Hello Insiders! Today we’re releasing build 85.0.552.1 to the Dev channel. Like last week, we’ve got a lot to talk about:

First, we’ve got a small blog post highlighting the improvements in memory usage that Edge will have on the latest version of Windows 10 (version 2004): https://blogs.windows.com/msedgedev/2020/06/17/improving-memory-usage/.
Next, we’ve got a recap of everything we shared at Build last month: https://blogs.windows.com/msedgedev/2020/06/18/icymi-recap-edge-build-2020/. There are lots of great videos there to check out!
We also officially announced that users of Microsoft 365 Business Premium (formerly Microsoft 365 Business) now have access to enterprise sync services: https://blogs.windows.com/msedgedev/2020/06/23/enterprise-sync-microsoft-365-business-premium/. There’s also a link to instructions there for anybody having trouble getting it to work.
For a little fun, we posted a small gift to ALL OF YOU to celebrate a big milestone we just hit: 10,000 forum members! To see what it is, check this out: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/articles/free-swag-celebrating-our-microsoft-edge-insiders/m-....
Finally, we’ve got our weekly Twitter roundup to check out: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/this-just-in-june-22/m-p/1482098.

As for all the browser-related changes this week:

    Added features:

Added a New Tab Page Search Box management policy. Administrative Template updates to come later.
Added support for the Auto Open Allowed For URLs management policy from upstream Chromium.
Added support for the Auto Open File Types management policy from upstream Chromium.

    Improved reliability:

Fixed an issue where the browser sometimes does not open.
    Fixed a crash on startup.
    Fixed a crash when printing.
Fixed an issue where opening the Read Aloud voice options list crashes the browser.
Fixed an issue on Mac where entering fullscreen mode in an installed app or website crashes the browser.

Fixed an issue where certain 4K video content, such as that encoded using HEVC, doesn’t play properly.
Improved the reliability of importing passwords from other browsers.
Fixed an issue where adding items to a Collection sometimes fails, and instead the loading spinner is shown indefinitely.

    Changed behavior:

Fixed an issue where the flag that controlled the ability to use the Block option in website Autoplay settings disappeared.
Fixed an issue where Edge users who are signed into Windows with a work or school account sometimes don’t get automatically signed into the browser with that account, which can lead to sync errors.
Fixed an issue where PWAs or websites installed as apps sometimes have consistent GPU use even when idle.
Fixed an issue where icons in some menus like the … menu are the wrong size.
Fixed an issue where the New Tab page from Edge Legacy sometimes opens after an Edge update instead of the correct page.
Fixed an issue where system notifications from websites sometimes stay onscreen indefinitely.
Fixed an issue where the Downloads management page shows a message that a file is successfully deleted even when the deletion fails.
Fixed an issue where autofill sometimes incorrectly suggests credentials to use in forms on websites that have never been visited before.
Fixed an issue where autofill sometimes incorrectly suggests passwords in fields on websites that aren’t asking for a password.
Fixed an issue where the Windows Title Bar buttons sometimes appeared in a different color than the rest of the window’s title bar.

Added the ability to reorder the extension icons on the toolbar using a keyboard shortcut (Alt + Shift + arrows).

Added a management policy to control New Tab Page Allowed Background Types. Note that Administrative Templates will come later.

Added a feature to Kiosk Mode to close the browser when it’s idle (with the time limit being adjustable).
Added an alert to the … menu of installed websites and apps when Edge has an update ready to be installed.

    Improved reliability:

Fixed a crash when closing the browser after creating a new profile.
Fixed an issue where opening a tab in IE mode sometimes crashes the browser.
Fixed an issue where signing into the browser sometimes crashes the browser.
Fixed an issue where moving a tab when it has the search sidebar open sometimes crashes the sidebar.
Fixed an issue where attempting to print a PDF sometimes crashes the tab.
Clicking links from external applications while Edge is waiting to restart to apply an update sometimes results in those links not loading properly.
Fixed an issue where the Kindle reader website doesn’t load.
Fixed an issue where attempting to share video, such as in a Microsoft Teams call, sometimes fails, and the recipient only sees a blank screen.
Fixed an issue on Mac where the Sidebar Search option appears to be available but doesn’t do anything.
Fixed an issue where pasting content into a Collection sometimes fails.
Fixed an issue where pasting content into a text note in a Collection sometimes fails.

    Changed behavior:

Changed the PDF reader to no longer prompt where to save an edited PDF every time it’s saved.
Fixed an issue where data imported from other browsers during the first run experience sometimes isn’t deleted properly if the browser is closed before the first run experience is completed.
Fixed an issue where the top border of the window can’t be used to resize it.
Fixed an issue where the Pull To Refresh flag from upstream Chromium disappeared.
Fixed an issue where clicking on the Switch button in the Guided Switch dialog sometimes does nothing.
Fixed an issue where pinning an Edge shortcut to a specific profile or website to the Taskbar sometimes results in that shortcut not opening to the correct profile or website.
Fixed an issue where pages sometimes try to translate into the same language they’re already in.
Fixed an issue where pages are sometimes offered to be translated from random languages into the language they’re already in.
Fixed an issue where browser profiles that aren’t signed in with work or school accounts sometimes incorrectly get Information Protection applied to them when another profile in the browser is signed in with a work or school account that has Information Protection applied to it.
Fixed an issue where Immersive Reader is no longer available on certain webpages.
Fixed an issue where the undo dialog when deleting a saved password from Settings doesn’t appear.
Fixed an issue where the PDF toolbar sometimes doesn’t appear when it should.
Improved the number of websites where Collections can retrieve an image for a website added to a Collection.
Fixed an issue where the feedback dialog sometimes appears too big or cut off.
Improved the performance of Edge updates that are manually triggered by viewing edge://settings/help.
Improved the performance of clearing browsing data.
    Removed the Network Prediction setting.
Removed the ability to search using the sidebar in PDF files because it is not functional.

    Known issues:

Attempting to watch video in fullscreen will sometimes not work properly. Instead of showing the video fullscreen, it will blow up or zoom the video to the size of the browser window. This issue affects all Chromium-based browsers.
Users of certain ad blocking extensions may experience playback errors on Youtube. As a workaround, temporarily disabling the extension should allow playback to proceed. See https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/articles/known-issue-adblock-causing-errors-on-youtube/m-p/14... for more details.
Users of the Kaspersky Internet Suite who have the associated extension installed may sometimes see webpages like Gmail fail to load. This failure is due to the main Kaspersky software being out of date, and is thus fixed by making sure the latest version is installed.
Some users are seeing favorites get duplicated after we made some previous fixes in that area. The most common way this is triggered is by installing the Stable channel of Edge and then signing into it with an account that has already signed into Edge before. Fixing this should be easier now that the deduplicator tool is available. However, we’ve also seen duplication happen when running the deduplicator on multiple machines before either machine has a chance to fully sync its changes, so while we wait for some of the fixes we’ve made to come to Stable, make sure to leave plenty of time in between runs of the deduplicator.
After an initial fix for it recently, some users are still experiencing Edge windows becoming all black. Opening the Browser Task Manager (keyboard shortcut is shift + esc) and killing the GPU process usually fixes it. Note that this only appears to affect users with certain hardware and is most easily triggered by resizing an Edge window. For users with discrete GPUs, updating graphics drivers may help.
Some users are seeing “wobbling” behavior when scrolling using trackpad gestures or touchscreens, where scrolling in one dimension also causes the page to subtly scroll back and forth in the other. Note that this only affects certain websites and seems to be worse on certain devices. This is most likely related to our ongoing work to bring scrolling back to parity with Edge Legacy’s behavior, so if this behavior is undesirable, you can temporarily turn it off by disabling the edge://flags/#edge-experimental-scrolling flag.
There are some issues where users with multiple audio output devices sometimes don’t get any sound from Edge. In one case, Edge becomes muted in the Windows Volume Mixer and unmuting it fixes it. In another, restarting the browser fixes it.

There are some issues where users with multiple audio output devices sometimes don’t get any sound from Edge. In one case, Edge becomes muted in the Windows Volume Mixer and unmuting it fixes it. In another, restarting the browser fixes it.

Changelog

    Added features:

Added support for Dark Theme in default webpage form controls like dropdowns, calendars, etc.
Added a management policy for Kiosk Delete Downloads On Exit. Note that this policy only applies to when the browser is in Kiosk Mode, and administrative templates will be updated later.
Enabled support for the Chromium management policy for a User Data Snapshot Retention Limit.

    Improved reliability:

Fixed a crash when closing a window.
Fixed a crash on browser shutdown.
Fixed a crash when opening DirectInvoke programs.
Fixed a crash when switching browser profiles.
Fixed a crash when using Guided Switch to switch browser profiles.
Fixed an issue where opening a PWA or installed website sometimes crashes the browser.
Fixed a crash when closing the browser on versions of Windows older than Windows 10.
Fixed an issue where some websites don’t load properly when Quiet Notifications are enabled. Note that this change restores regular notifications for affected sites.
Fixed an issue where videos sometimes stop playing right after they start.
Fixed an issue where creating a new Collection sometimes fails.

    Changed behavior:

Fixed an issue where profile dialogs like for Guided Switch or Sign In sometimes don’t appear.
Changed favorites links on the Favorites management page to open in a new tab instead of the current one.
Fixed an issue on Windows Insider builds where Edge tabs don’t appear in the alt+tab list even when the Windows setting is enabled.
Fixed an issue where suggestions that appear for URLs to visit when the typed URL doesn’t exist weren’t working.
Fixed an issue where some parts of the Website Information popup are missing.
Fixed an issue where the fullscreen Shy UI sometimes doesn’t respond to input.
Fixed an issue where the Shy UI window control buttons (minimize, close, etc.) don’t respond to touchscreen presses or show hover state when the mouse hovers over them.
Fixed an issue where going through the Collections First Run Experience creates an extra Collection.
Fixed an issue where saving PDFs that are embedded in webpages sometimes results in the file being saved as an HTML file instead of a PDF.
Fixed an issue where MsEdgeDriver fails to launch Edge when running inside a Windows docker container.

    Known issues:

Certain websites like Discord currently aren’t loading. We’re working to get the fix integrated into our Canary branch.
Mac users running the OS 11 preview (Big Sur) may have issues with all versions of Edge either crashing or not launching to begin with. We’ve identified the issue and are working to get it resolved before Big Sur is officially released.
Users with certain hardware are seeing changes in scrolling behavior that are unintended. For example, pages scroll much faster than they used to. We’re currently investigating.
Users of certain ad blocking extensions may experience playback errors on Youtube. As a workaround, temporarily disabling the extension should allow playback to proceed. See https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/articles/known-issue-adblock-causing-errors-on-youtube/m-p/14... for more details.
Some users are still running into an issue where all tabs and extensions immediately crash with a STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_HASH error. The most common cause of this error is outdated security or antivirus software from vendors like Symantec, and in those cases, updating that software will fix it.

Microsoft Edge 88.0.705.9 Dev
« Antwort #266 am: 04 Dezember, 2020, 11:20 »
Changelog

    Added features:

Improved the History menu to be able to have an icon next to the address bar, to show all the tabs available in recently closed windows, and to be pinnable as a side pane like the recently improved Favorites menu. For more details, see https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/articles/improvements-to-history-in-microsoft-edge/td-p/18965....
Added the ability for Edge to generate new passwords.
Added the ability to copy and edit passwords stored in the browser.
Add price comparison capabilities to the coupons flyout.
Added Picture in Picture support on Mac OS. Support on other devices coming later.
Finished rolling out the search Sidebar.
Enabled the creation of text notes in PDFs on non-Windows platforms.
Added a new management policy to Allow Vertical Tabs. Note that updates to administrative templates or documentation may not be available yet.
Improved the layout of the Cookies and Site Permissions Settings.
Added a management policy on Mac OS to Override the Update Policy normally used on that OS. Note that updates to administrative templates or documentation may not be available yet.
Enabled support for the management policies to Allow Legacy TLS Protocols in Web RTC, set a Printer Type Deny List, and change Intranet Redirect Behavior from Chromium.

    Improved reliability:

Fixed a crash on launch on Mac with the error message "AlertNotificationService cannot be opened because of a problem."
Fixed a crash when navigating to different websites while certain extensions are installed.
Fixed a crash when using Pinterest suggestions in Collections.
Fixed an issue where clicking the … menu inside a collection sometimes crashes the Collections pane.
Fixed an issue where websites sometimes fail to sign in with an ERR_SSL_CLIENT_AUTH_CERT_NEEDED error after rebooting the device.

    Changed behavior:

Changed favorite folder flyouts from the Favorites Bar to no longer dismiss when opening a favorite in a new tab.
Fixed an issue where streaming music from Spotify when it’s installed as an app/PWA sometimes fails.
Fixed an issue where extension icons can’t be moved between the address bar and the … menu because the context menu option to do so is grayed out.
Fixed an issue where the search box on the new tab page sometimes doesn’t work after entering full screen mode.
Fixed an issue where autofill suggestions aren’t appearing on webpages where they should be.
Fixed an issue where annotations on a Web Capture sometimes get unintentionally erased.
Fixed an issue where certain Collections features aren’t accessible if the pane is zoomed beyond a certain level.
Fixed an issue where Text Notes in a read-only PDF aren’t accessible.
Obsoleted the management policies for Default Plugin Settings, Plugins Allowed For Urls, Plugins Blocked For Urls, and Run All Flash In Allow Mode due to the impending retirement of Flash.

    Known issues:

The new tab button sometimes is placed incorrectly after closing a tab. It should still be functional.
Certain extensions such as the Microsoft Editor extension don’t work on Linux. As soon as they’re installed, they crash and are disabled.
This issue should be reduced now that automatic deduplication has been introduced into Insider channels. However, we’ve also seen duplication happen when running the manual deduplicator on multiple machines before either machine has a chance to fully sync its changes, so while we wait for the automatic deduplication to make it to Stable, make sure to leave plenty of time in between runs of the deduplicator.
