Classic Theme Restorer restores squared tabs, appbutton/appmenu, bookmarks menu button, bookmarks sidebar button, history sidebar button and other buttons from Firefox 4-28 (non-Australis) on Firefox 29+ (Austalis UI - Windows, MacOSX, Linux).

All buttons are fully optional. Some of them have to be moved to toolbars manually using browsers 'customize' area.

Note 1
"Open 'about:preferences' in a window" is an experimental option that simulates a preference window, but internally is a default browser window with all toolbars hidden and the category tabs moved to the top.
This is not a XUL/preference window, so not every XUL feature applies here.
Bugs / restrictions / possible issues:
1. Leaving this preference window open and performing a browser restart will reopen it (like default browser windows are reopened after a restart).
2. It is possible this window is not accurate on every locale or in all HiDPI modes.
3. This windows size can be manually adjusted, but new dimensions do not get saved.
4. It is possible to shrink window size and corrupt its ui. There are no checks to forbid this.
5. Last opened category or tab does not get saved
6. Opening a second prefwindow closes the first one.
7. Keeping the window(s) after restart allows to open more of them,but there is no point in doing this.

Note 2
To the MacOSX 10.10 user who rapidly requests this add-on has to be signed: it is signed!
Add-ons only showed a ".1-signed" string once in May/June 2015 when Mozilla automatically signed them for the first time.
All add-on versions uploaded since then get signed automatically, but do not display a ".1-signed" string.

Wie zuvor in Berlin und Hamburg haben die Entwickler des populären Werbeblockers nun auch in Köln gewonnen. Der Konzern Axel Springer will in die nächste Instanz ziehen.

Die Kölner Zivilkammer hat sich wie erwartet den Entscheidungen der Landgerichte in Hamburg und München angeschlossen und die Anträge auf Vertriebsverbot für den Werbeblocker Adblock Plus abgelehnt. In der Urteilsbegündung hält die Kammer fest, dass die Kläger weder eine gezielte Behinderung noch eine allgemeine Marktstörung nachgewiesen hätten.

Die Kölner Richter schließen sich vollumfänglich der Entscheidung des Münchener Landgerichts an. Die dortigen Richter hatten Eyeo von einem Verstoß gegen das Wettbewerbsrecht freigesprochen, da die Internetnutzer in einer "autonomen und eigenständigen Entscheidung" den Werbeblocker installierten und hierdurch verhinderten, dass Werbung angezeigt wird.

"Erpresserisches Angebot"

Ein Sprecher der Axel Springer SE erklärte gegenüber heise online: "Auch nach dem heutigen Urteil bleibt unsere Position unverändert: Wir halten das Geschäftsmodell von Eyeo für rechtswidrig. Dies gilt sowohl für das Unterdrücken von Werbung auf Verlagswebseiten als auch für das erpresserische Angebot des 'Whitelisting', bei dem sich Publisher von der Werbeblockade freikaufen können."

Offensichtlich gehe es Eyeo in erster Linie darum, Teile von Werbegeldern abzugreifen. Damit sei die Refinanzierung des professionellem Journalismus im Netz gefährdet.

Widerspruch kommt unter anderem von der Webseite Business Insider, die Axel Springer gerade für 343 Millionen Dollar (rund 306 Millionen Euro) aufgekauft hat. "Das Geschäftsmodell von Adblock Plus mag nicht jedem gefallen, aber man sollte überlegen, ob es nicht sogar einen gewissen Mehrwert gebracht hat", heißt es in einem aktuellen Artikel zum Thema. So sei die Diskussion über bessere Werbeformen eröffnet worden.

Eyeo expandiert über Partner

Eyeo-Geschäftsführer Till Faida kritisiert die Kläger, der Angriff auf die Acceptable-Ads-Whitelist sei kurzsichtig: "Das Verhalten von Springer vor Gericht zeigt, wie unvernünftig und innovationsfeindlich Verlagshäuser sein können." Letzlich entschieden die Nutzer.

Der Streit ist nicht zu Ende. Axel Springer kündigte gegenüber heise online an, nun vor das Oberlandesgericht Köln zu ziehen. Es wird allgemein erwartet, dass die Klagen der unterschiedlichen Medienhäuser schließlich vor dem Bundesgerichtshof landen.

Erster Partner für Whitelist

Unterdessen hat Eyeo einen ersten Partner gefunden, um seine Acceptable-Ads-Whitelist über Adblock Plus hinaus zu vermarkten. So hat der Entwicker des Adblockers "Crystal" für iOS 9 angekündigt, in seine App Eyeos Whitelist einzubauen. Die Kölner Firma sucht unterdessen nach weiteren Partnern.
