ExifTool kann mehr als nur Meta-Daten lesen und schreiben: Die von der Kamera gelieferten EXIF-Daten sind nicht immer korrekt, beispielsweise wenn das Kameradatum nicht stimmt oder der Kommentar noch auf den Vorbesitzer der Kamera hinweist. Solche Fehler korrigiert das Exif-Tool.

Die Sammlung von Perl-Skripten liest EXIF-, IPTC- und XMP-Daten und ändert diese auf Wunsch. Einen separaten Perl-Interpreter braucht man nicht. Für den vollen Funktionsumfang muss man sich mit der Kommandozeile vertraut machen, zum Korrigieren der Metadaten einzelner Bilder genügt das auf ExifTool aufsetzende ExifTool GUI.

Image Stitching for Panoramas.pdf: added a section on how to use PTGui to stitch
panoramas.

Histogram Tool: for HSV-V and HSL-L histograms you now have the option of displaying
the brightness histogram such that each vertical bar is broken down by hue, indicating
the relative number of pixels of each hue for each brightness level. Please see the
updated help file for more information and examples. You will need to do a full install to
get new bitmaps. Performance when using this new feature is a little sluggish due to the
complexity of drawing the color histogram.

    Enhancements and improvements:

    The selected files can be passed to other programs or to Windows batch scripts for further processing.
    The first reading and especially the updating of the read data for the search has been accelerated.
    Menu "File" has new entry to select a folder. A mask is opened where a folder can be selected in a folder tree or from a drop-down list with last selected folders. In this way the space for folder tree in main mask can be used for other information, e.g., a longer a list of files.
    New fields: "Image.DisplayImageErrorMessage" contains error message when displaying the image, "Image.MetaDataWarnings" contains warnings when reading metadata. Both information is already displayed in the Overview tab. The fields allow to search for images with corresponding messages. Since the meta data is not read completely during the search, the warnings may be incomplete

    Following errors are corrected:

    The program could crash if unknown XMP tags were selected for modifying data.
    The program could crash if XMP-Struct fields (e.g. Xmp.iptcExt.LocationShown[1]/...) were configured for searching.
