Raw Therapee bietet umfangreiche Werkzeuge zur Korrektur von Helligkeit, Farbe und Bildrauschen. Per Protokoll kann man jederzeit zu jedem Bearbeitungsstand zurückkehren. Das Resultat speichert das Programm zwischendurch als Schnappschuss oder endgültig als JPEG, PNG oder TIFF – letzteres zur Weiterverarbeitung auch mit 16 Bit pro Kanal. Alternativ gibt es die Bilddaten an Gimp weiter.

GIMP plugin to open raw images in GIMP using RawTherapee - see RawPedia.
"Remote" mode (-R command line option) to allow opening images ("Open with" or passed as arguments) in a full-fledged instance. The -R mode allows you to open an image in an already-running instance of RawTherapee, if that instance was also started using -R. Opening an image without the -R option will open RawTherapee in "no-File-Browser" mode which lacks the File Browser and Queue tabs, and the Preferences button.

While this release introduced several new features, the main focus was to refine what's already there. Both the speed and stability of various tools and of RawTherapee in general were significantly improved, particularly when dealing with folders containing thousands of images.
Most significant improvements:

4x speedup of the Microcontrast tool.
CIECAM02 curves no longer cause a sudden jump in brightness.
Improved stability in METM (Multiple Editor Tabs Mode) in Windows.
Improvement to the MEOW (Multiple Editor Tabs in Own Window) mode.
LCP files lead to better results.
Large speedup and stability improvement when opening folders containing hundreds or thousands of images.
Many memory leaks fixed.
Pixel Shift speedups, reduction of memory requirements, and motion mask preview accuracy improved.
The preview of the Tone Mapping tool is now much more accurate at any zoom level.

Requires GTK+ version >=3.16, though 3.22 is recommended.
RawTherapee 5 requires GCC-4.9 or higher, or Clang.
Do not use -ffast-math, it will not make RawTherapee faster but will introduce artifacts.
Use -O3, it will make RawTherapee faster with no known side-effects.
For stable releases use -DCACHE_NAME_SUFFIX=""
For development builds and release-candidates use -DCACHE_NAME_SUFFIX="5-dev"

BatchBlitz is a batch image processor with an included photo edit program. It allows you to add a watermarks, filter source files, rename/convert images, resize/rotate, automatically apply color corrections, and more. An instant preview gives you a look at effects before executing. Additionally, the program supports regular expressions for filtering files to be processed and for the renaming of files. It includes a wizard to categorize files based on metadata (EXIF or IPTC tags). The editor program is separate from the batch program, but included in the application folder, and can be launched from within BatchBlitz for editing.

Alternate Pic View is a program that enables you to view image files and make some adjustments. It supports multiple formats, including BMP, JPG, PCX, TGA and WMF.

The interface of the application is familiar and easy to work with. Images can be imported with the help of the file browser or 'drag and drop' method. So, you can use some basic editing tools, such as line, arrow, rectangle, freehand, fill, text and pen, along with the undo and redo functions. But you can also zoom in and out, switch to full screen mode, create a slideshow, enable thumbnail view mode, crop a selection and make Alternate Pic View retain the EXIF/IPTC information.

Alternate Pic View allows you to apply several effects to the pictures; they revolve around rotation, mirror, flip, invert, sharpen, blur, contrast, brightness, pixelization, noise and red eye removal, just to name a few.

The graphic editing tool supports keyboard shortcuts and multiple languages for the interface, has a good response time and contains user documentation. We have not come across any issues throughout our testing; Alternate Pic View did not freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs throughout our testing.  Thanks to its intuitive layout, less experienced users can easily find their way around this app.
