JPEGView is a viewer/editor for JPEG, BMP, PNG, GIF and TIFF images. It is designed to view images from digital cameras full screen and with highest quality possible. Basic image editing functionality is provided - allowing to correct typical problems as color cast, high/low contrast and under- or overexposure very quickly and interactively during review of the images. JPEGView does not replace a full blown image editor - such an editor will just be needed less often.

    Support for animated GIFs.
    Limitations:
    - Saving GIFs will only save the currently displayed frame.
    - Some image processings (e.g. free rotation, perspective correction) will stop the animation and work on a single frame only
    - No caching of the decoded frames. This has pros and cons. Pro is that memory consumption is limited. Con is that the CPU load while playing can be rather high. However on a dual core CPU it's not a problem.
    Support for multi-page TIFF.
    Note that (singlepage or multipage) TIFFs compressed with JPEG compression are not supported by GDI+.
    This is a known issue of GDI+ that cannot be fixed in JPEGView (except if another TIFF library would be used)
    WebP library 0.3.0 from Google is now used. This version supports lossy and lossless compression.
    To use lossless compression with the WEBP format, select the "WEBP lossless" file format in the "File Save" dialog.
    Be warned that lossless WEBP compression is very, very slow (decompression is fast however).
    New INI file setting: FileNameFormat allowing to display configurable information with Ctrl-F2. See INI file for information.

Bugs fixed:

    EXIF (F2) and file name info (Ctrl+F2) no longer flicker when active during slide show with transition effect
    No logical sorting of file names is done if
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoStrCmpLogical
    registry value is set to 1. This matches the behavior of the Windows explorer.
    Note that the default registry value for this is 0, therefore almost all users will notice no change.

ExifTool kann mehr als nur Meta-Daten lesen und schreiben: Die von der Kamera gelieferten EXIF-Daten sind nicht immer korrekt, beispielsweise wenn das Kameradatum nicht stimmt oder der Kommentar noch auf den Vorbesitzer der Kamera hinweist. Solche Fehler korrigiert das Exif-Tool.

Die Sammlung von Perl-Skripten liest EXIF-, IPTC- und XMP-Daten und ändert diese auf Wunsch. Einen separaten Perl-Interpreter braucht man nicht. Für den vollen Funktionsumfang muss man sich mit der Kommandozeile vertraut machen, zum Korrigieren der Metadaten einzelner Bilder genügt das auf ExifTool aufsetzende ExifTool GUI.

Photos2Folders is a simple to use application which uses the "Date Taken" tag of your digital camera photos to help sort them into a central photo repository. You choose the folder structure and then quickly process your photos into a folder hierarchy which you can then use with any application.

Photos2Folders processes the photos in groups so that you don't have to spend hours going through each picture. The application also scans for duplicate photos to ensure that the photo repository doesn't end up with ten copies of the same picture.
