Für Freunde der Maus gibt es für Windows mit ExifTool GUI mittlerweile eine grafische Oberfläche. Es zeigt EXIF-Daten von JPEG- und Raw-Fotos in einer übersichtlichen Tabelle an und listet die Bearbeitungsfunktionen im Menü auf.

Changes in v4.11 - May 11, 2011

- Since Canon DPP v3.10.1, when modifying LensType tag, focal length tags inside Makernote are also needed to be modified accordingly. Because of this, modify ShortFocal & LongFocal according to LensType checkbox has been added on panel Makernotes Canon. This option (checked by default) should guarantee, that DPP will allow Lens corrections.

- LensInfo column has been added into filelist pane (visible when in Details: Camera settings view). The only reason for adding this, is to simplify "updating" ShortFocal & LongFocal tags on files, which allready have modified LensType tag by using older GUI version (see above).
Workflow is as follows (if mixed lenses have been used for images in directory):
1. Select desired files and choose Modify>Exif:LensInfo from Makernotes menu -this will populate LensInfo tag.
2. Choose Details:Camera settings view to see LensInfo data and if needed, sort files by clicking on column title.
3. Select all files where the same lens was used, choose Modify>Makernotes Canon menu and apply change.
4. Repeat step 3 on remaing files.
Of course, if you used the same lens for all images, then you only need to execute step 3.

Bug fixes

    Skin installer sometimes quit before being done installing skins. This could result in all kinds of skin related errors. If you have any issues running a skin, try reinstalling that skin using this update.
    Files couldn't be deleted from within jAlbum if they were located on an Apple AFS volume (Mac only)
    Some ftp servers didn't allow jAlbum to list directory contents

Mit "StudioLine PhotoBasic" können Sie Ihre persönliche Bildersammlung bequem auf dem Computer verwalten. Die Fotos lassen sich einfach in das Programm importieren. Nun können Sie beliebige Beschreibungen zu den einzelnen Bildern schreiben und später nach Stichworten aus diesen Texten anzeigen lassen.

Daneben stehen eine Vielzahl an Filtern für die Nachbereitung Ihrer Fotos bereit, von der Tonwertkorrektur bis zum Transparentfilter sind alle wichtigen Funktion mitgeliefert. Wenn Ihnen am Ende die Orginalversion des Bildes doch mehr gefällt, können Sie diese auch einfach wiederherstellen; das Programm speichert sie automatisch.

Ihre Bildersammlung können Sie dann als Diashow entweder fürs Web oder auf eine CD/DVD exportieren. Dafür stehen mehrere Vorlagen zur Verfügung.

Das Programm ist nahezu identisch zu StudioLine Photo. Unterschiede zwischen der hier angebotenen Basic-Version und der kommerziellen Vollversion: kein RAW-Support, keine Zeitleisten- und Stichwortdarstellung, keine Updates und Services. Außerdem muss man sich nach 30 Tagen kostenlos registrieren lassen, um das Programm weiterhin zu nutzen.

Fotokorrektur läuft immer wieder auf die gleichen Arbeitsschritte hinaus. Einen pickt sich der JPG-Illuminator heraus, der sich auf das Aufhellen von Schatten und Abdunkeln der Lichter spezialisiert. Er bearbeitet zusätzlich den Kontrast und setzt Bilder in Schwarzweiß um. Wie der Name JPG-Illuminator schon sagt, richtet sich das Programm an Nutzer, die im JPG-Format fotografieren. Da es ohne Installation auskommt, startet es beispielsweise auch vom USB-Stick.

PhotoFilmStrip creates movies out of images in 3 steps. First select your photos, customize the motion path and render the video. There are several output possibilities for VCD, SVCD, DVD up to FULL-HD (1920x1080). The effect of the slideshow is known as "Ken Burns". Comments of the pictures are generated into a subtitle file. Furthermore an audio file can be specified to setup the background music for the slide show.
