Falls jemand nun von Flickr zu Picasa umziehen will, dann sollte er FlickrEdit nutzen. Mit dem Tool könnt ihr alle Fotos, beziehungsweise Alben von Flickr herunterladen. Das Java-Tool funktioniert unter Windows, Mac OS X und Linux. Die Bedienung ist simpel: dem Programm Zugriff auf den Flickr-Account gewähren, Alben auswählen und diese dann herunterladen.

PhotoFilmStrip creates movies out of images in 3 steps. First select your photos, customize the motion path and render the video. There are several output possibilities for VCD, SVCD, DVD up to FULL-HD (1920x1080). The effect of the slideshow is known as "Ken Burns". Comments of the pictures are generated into a subtitle file. Furthermore an audio file can be specified to setup the background music for the slide show.

Option Exif:DateTime set & increment added to Modify menu:
-this option is ment for cases, where original image files are in sequence, but they don't contain DateTime values (i.e. scanned photos). By setting DateTime in sequence, one can sort them later according to DateTime value.
Note: Before execution, make sure that image files listed in GUI, are sorted properly.
Note: This operation might be slow for large amount of images!

Button Examples added on ExifTool direct panel
-if not allready present, then by clicking on "Examples" button, file "ExifToolGUI-examples.html" will be generated in the same folder where GUI is and then displayed by GUI.
This html file uses only few simple html tags, so everybody interested can add his own examples by using Notepad.

CanonVRD visible (again) in Makernotes view
-this group of metadata contains quite a lot of tags and combined with "regular" Makernotes, list becomes quite long. For that reason I might make separate "view" button in future (for showing CanonVRD only).

Batch embedding JPG (preview) images into CR2 files
-till now, only single file embedding was possible for Canon raw files (see GUI manual: Export/Import menu).

ExifTool kann mehr als nur Meta-Daten lesen und schreiben: Die von der Kamera gelieferten EXIF-Daten sind nicht immer korrekt, beispielsweise wenn das Kameradatum nicht stimmt oder der Kommentar noch auf den Vorbesitzer der Kamera hinweist. Solche Fehler korrigiert das Exif-Tool.

Die Sammlung von Perl-Skripten liest EXIF-, IPTC- und XMP-Daten und ändert diese auf Wunsch. Einen separaten Perl-Interpreter braucht man nicht. Für den vollen Funktionsumfang muss man sich mit der Kommandozeile vertraut machen, zum Korrigieren der Metadaten einzelner Bilder genügt das auf ExifTool aufsetzende ExifTool GUI.

Fotokorrektur läuft immer wieder auf die gleichen Arbeitsschritte hinaus. Einen pickt sich der JPG-Illuminator heraus, der sich auf das Aufhellen von Schatten und Abdunkeln der Lichter spezialisiert. Er bearbeitet zusätzlich den Kontrast und setzt Bilder in Schwarzweiß um. Wie der Name JPG-Illuminator schon sagt, richtet sich das Programm an Nutzer, die im JPG-Format fotografieren. Da es ohne Installation auskommt, startet es beispielsweise auch vom USB-Stick.
