Für Freunde der Maus gibt es für Windows mit ExifTool GUI mittlerweile eine grafische Oberfläche. Es zeigt EXIF-Daten von JPEG- und Raw-Fotos in einer übersichtlichen Tabelle an und listet die Bearbeitungsfunktionen im Menü auf.

Changes in v4.09 - Mar. 26, 2011
In Preferences:
-default path for startup.
-default path for exporting metadata.
-default startup metadata view button.
-option to see files in thumbnails mode at startup.

Marked (highlighted) tags defined by user:
-this option can be acessed by right-click in metadata view panel (similar as defining Custom view tags). Note: tags can't be marked in Quick or Custom view.

View tags grouped by instance "-g4" added in "Expert" menu
-this option works only when viewing Makernote metadata.

Still Todo: I didn't forget about "remembering" ExifTool direct commands -I just need to figure out how to make that option user friendly enough.

ExifTool kann mehr als nur Meta-Daten lesen und schreiben: Die von der Kamera gelieferten EXIF-Daten sind nicht immer korrekt, beispielsweise wenn das Kameradatum nicht stimmt oder der Kommentar noch auf den Vorbesitzer der Kamera hinweist. Solche Fehler korrigiert das Exif-Tool.

Die Sammlung von Perl-Skripten liest EXIF-, IPTC- und XMP-Daten und ändert diese auf Wunsch. Einen separaten Perl-Interpreter braucht man nicht. Für den vollen Funktionsumfang muss man sich mit der Kommandozeile vertraut machen, zum Korrigieren der Metadaten einzelner Bilder genügt das auf ExifTool aufsetzende ExifTool GUI.

    Separated complex cropping function from TransformImage() as a new function CropImageToTiles(). This new function returns either the new cropped image, or a list of tiles, according to geometry, without replacing the source image. The Source image may be part of a larger list of images, without the function 'losing' the other images of the list.
