ExifTool kann mehr als nur Meta-Daten lesen und schreiben: Die von der Kamera gelieferten EXIF-Daten sind nicht immer korrekt, beispielsweise wenn das Kameradatum nicht stimmt oder der Kommentar noch auf den Vorbesitzer der Kamera hinweist. Solche Fehler korrigiert das Exif-Tool.

Die Sammlung von Perl-Skripten liest EXIF-, IPTC- und XMP-Daten und ändert diese auf Wunsch. Einen separaten Perl-Interpreter braucht man nicht. Für den vollen Funktionsumfang muss man sich mit der Kommandozeile vertraut machen, zum Korrigieren der Metadaten einzelner Bilder genügt das auf ExifTool aufsetzende ExifTool GUI.

Alternate Pic View is a program that enables you to view image files and make some adjustments. It supports multiple formats, including BMP, JPG, PCX, TGA and WMF.

The interface of the application is familiar and easy to work with. Images can be imported with the help of the file browser or 'drag and drop' method. So, you can use some basic editing tools, such as line, arrow, rectangle, freehand, fill, text and pen, along with the undo and redo functions. But you can also zoom in and out, switch to full screen mode, create a slideshow, enable thumbnail view mode, crop a selection and make Alternate Pic View retain the EXIF/IPTC information.

Alternate Pic View allows you to apply several effects to the pictures; they revolve around rotation, mirror, flip, invert, sharpen, blur, contrast, brightness, pixelization, noise and red eye removal, just to name a few.

The graphic editing tool supports keyboard shortcuts and multiple languages for the interface, has a good response time and contains user documentation. We have not come across any issues throughout our testing; Alternate Pic View did not freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs throughout our testing.  Thanks to its intuitive layout, less experienced users can easily find their way around this app.

Introduction

This version is a maintenance release, some bugs were fixed and support for new Nikon and Canon cameras was added. A new feature it is the support for GoPro cameras

GoPro Support

Support for GoPro cameras it is in beta stage so may contain bugs and maybe some cases will not work how should work.Was tested only with GoPro HERO 9 and 5 . There are two way to connect camera WIFI and USB

Wifi and Bluetooth

Both connection are required to connect the camera, in the top tool bar it is a dedicated button for it with Bluetooth sign. In the list will show up all nearby GoPro devices but only one device can be connected. First the device should be paired by pressing the Pair button and the camera should be set in pairing mode Settings->Connections->Connect device

USB

Using USB cable only GoPro model 10 and 11 is supported fully and GoPro 9 partially. In this mode multiple camera can be connected. Additionally GoPro Webcam Utility should be installed

Know issues

    Live view working only for GoPro 9 and up
    The live view have a 15 seconds lag
    The file transfer it is slow when wifi connection it is used
    Some time the connection fail and required the application to be restarted or even Bluetooth connection disabled/enabled or even the battery removed from the camera
