XnSketch verwandelt Fotografien ohne viel Aufwand in Skizzen- oder Cartoon-ähnliche Grafiken. Hierfür stellt die Freeware insgesamt 18 verschiedene Effekte in farbiger sowie schwarz-weißer Variante zur Auswahl.

Hier finden sich zum Beispiel Filter, welche Bildern das Aussehen von Pastell- oder Kohlezeichungen verleihen, sie in einen Neon-Schein hüllen oder das typische Aussehen einer Fotokopie imitieren. Auch ein Öl-Filter sowie ein grobes Druckraster steht hier zur Auswahl.

Für sämtliche Effekte bietet XnSketch verschiedene Parameter, deren Schieberegler das jeweilige Arbeitsergebnis optimieren. So arbeitet der Filter in Sachen Helligkeit und Kontrast ebenso nach wie bei der Farbsättigung und beim Gammawert.

Zu einer runden Angelegenheit wird XnSketch durch eine integrierte Teilen-Funktion für etliche soziale Netzwerke und Foto-Portale. Facebook- und Tumblr-Nutzer werden hier ebenso fündig wie Inhaber eines Accounts bei Picasa, Flickr oder ImageShack.
