Fotokorrektur läuft immer wieder auf die gleichen Arbeitsschritte hinaus. Einen pickt sich der JPG-Illuminator heraus, der sich auf das Aufhellen von Schatten und Abdunkeln der Lichter spezialisiert. Er bearbeitet zusätzlich den Kontrast und setzt Bilder in Schwarzweiß um. Wie der Name JPG-Illuminator schon sagt, richtet sich das Programm an Nutzer, die im JPG-Format fotografieren. Da es ohne Installation auskommt, startet es beispielsweise auch vom USB-Stick.

Vor einiger Zeit gab es den Wunsch (Danke an softride), Text ins Bild einfügen zu können. Damit haben wir uns die letzten Wochen befasst.
Dazu gibt es zwei ganz unterschiedliche Ansätze: Erstens könnte man das als Textwerkzeug realisieren, wie man es von anderen Programmen kennt.
 Der Text wird ins Bild eingefügt und weitere Bearbeitungsschritte wie Aufhellen, Schärfen, Drehung des Bilds betreffen auch den eingefügten Text. Zweitens kann man den Text am Ende der Bearbeitung auf dem Bild platzieren wie in einem Layoutprogramm, so ähnlich, wie man auch einen Bilderrahmen ums fertige Bild herumlegt.

Zunächst haben wir die zweite Methode realisiert und bei den Filtern neben der Registerkarte "Rahmen" noch eine Registerkarte "Text" hinzugefügt. Man kann dort den Text editieren und etliche Parameter einstellen.
Die Position des Textes im Bild wird mit einer Pipette bestimmt .
Die Vorteile einer so gearteten Textfunktion:
Die Position des Textes (etwa ein Copyright-Vermerk oder eine zentrierte Bildunterschrift) bleibt auf der Bildfläche die gleiche, auch wenn man anschließend das Bild z.B. beschneidet oder dreht.
 Und die Einstellungen lassen sich wie alle anderen Filter als Preset abspeichern und wieder abrufen.
