OnOne Software hat zwei kostenlose Photoshop-Erweiterungen vorgestellt, mit denen digitale Bilderrahmen erstellt und Fotoverbesserungen auf Knopfdruck vorgenommen werden können.

Die beiden Plugins entstammen den kostenpflichtigen Sammlungen Phototools 2.5 und Photoframe 4.5 Die Erweiterungen laufen unter den Photoshop-Versionen CS2, CS3 und CS4.

Die kostenlosen Phototools 2.5 enthalten 15 fotografische Effekte angefangen beim sogenannten Bleach Bypass bis hin zur Cross-Entwicklung. Beide Verfahren stammen aus der analogen Fotografie. Bei der Cross-Entwicklung werden Farbnegativfilme mit Entwicklungsprozessen für Diapositivfilme behandelt oder umgekehrt Diafilme so entwickelt, als seien es Negativfilme. Das Ergebnis sind Bilder in knalligen Farben und mit harten Kontrasten.

Der Bleach-Bypass-Effekt sieht so aus, als wenn ein Farb- und ein Schwarz-Weiß-Bild ineinander übergehen. Dabei sinkt die Farbsättigung und der Kontrast steigt. Außerdem sind in den kostenlosen Phototools Filmemulsionssimulationen für altes Filmmaterial von Kodak (Kodachrome) und Fujifilm (Velvia) enthalten. Dazu kommen Filter für die Weichzeichnung von Hauttönen.

Die Bilderrahmensammlung Photoframe 4.5 Free enthält 20 unterschiedliche Rahmen, Hintergründe, Texturen und Verzierungen, die auch übereinander angewendet und in ihren Farben verändert werden können.

Photoframe 4.5 Free und Phototools 2.5 laufen unter Windows und Mac OS X zusammen mit Photoshop ab Version CS2.
