With Softer! every satellite TV lover (like me) with a PC sat receiver can have a complete OSD (On Screen Display) with an EPG (Electronic Program Guide), in coupling with best-known TV application ProgDVB.

Main features

* Devised and developed to be used with a remote control (with the aid of the remote-PC communication application "Girder", or a similar one);
* Totally software engine, therefore no problem with budget boards (like Technisat SkyStar2) and/or in "overlay" rendering mode;
* Sudied to pilot ProgDVB, the best-known DVB TV application on PCs (in the future a Softer! version for MyTheatre will be available);
* Based on the XMLTV standard, and not on the singularly satellite-transmitted EPGs: you've to download (via Internet or via satellite) the EPG for all channels ONCE every week, and you'll have the complete TV schedule.
* It allows (with integraztion with the little free scheduler NnCron Lite) to schedule recordings in ProgDVB;
* It introduces the absolutely new function RecLag, to simply set up an advance & delay time in your scheduled recordings: so you can make your recording start some minute before and stop some minute after the "official" TV-guide timing table.

This new Softer! release adds following feature:

Free recording, with OSD showing record lenght in real time. New command for only-keyboart users is "R". GML file for Girder updated with this new command. see online manual for a correc configuration of folders used for this new feature.
and fixes following bugs:

Deeply modified the record scheduling of MyTheatre: "MTStart.exe /record" command line often didn't work, so Softer! now starts recordings simulating keystrokes, with command line "MTStart.exe /remote r". Users MUST CHECK that R key is set in MyTheatre to start recordings. Also fixed a bug that was crashing MyTheatre when starting to record a scheduled recording.
Fix to a bug that was causing termination of Softer! when trying to open the EPG on timeline after December, 31 2004;
Fix to some error in web parser, for some date/time archiviation.

kann mir mal jemand erklären wie ich dieses prog in den gang bekomme?
was muss ich wohin importieren bzw. welches programm erzeug diese xml-dateien(mit den epg daten?)?
ich hab kein tutorial dafür gefunden.

ich nutze übrigens progdvb 4.46 auf xp-prof. mit sp2.

Wenn du noch ein bissel wartest bring ich, sobald bei mir alles ohne Probleme läuft, ne Channelliste mit vorkonfiguriertem Softer raus.

Leider gibts wohl noch paar Bugs die behoben werden müssen.

wenn ich Softer starte, dann seh ich das OSD, aber ich seh kein TV-BIld... Prog DVB läuft, ich höre ja auch Ton, aber ProgDVB ist im Hintergrund oder so... ich kann erst, nachdem ich in der Taskleiste mehrfach auf die Anwendung klicke endlich Bild sehen...

und wenn ich in ProgDVB umschalte und das OSD nicht sichtbar ist, steht das OSD noch auf dem vorherigen Kanal, wenn ich es aufrufe...


Gibt es vielleicht eine gute (deutsche?) Anleitung, wie man Softer richtig in Gang gesetzt bekommen kann?

Auch wenn mein Englisch nicht so schlecht is, komm ich mit der nicht klar, bzw. Softer funktioniert bei mir nicht richtig :-/

Sieht ja sehr edel aus, Prog soll es doch einfach mal in ProgDVB integrieren, da das original OSD ja alles andere als schoen ist.. aber so 3rd party apps sind immer umstaendlich und mit kompromissen verbunden..

Aber netter ansatz, laeuft gut hier !
