MPC-HC (Media Player Classic Home Cinema) is an Open Source media player that supports most video and audio file formats.

MPC-HC was designed to play every available format, but not just for fancy, high-end rigs, but also for older computers and processors going back to Windows 2000.

Similar to other players, the focus is what's on the screen. The top bar has access to many settings including File, View, Play, Navigate, and help. At the bottom, you will find familiar, easy to use controls to play, go forward or backward, pause, volume, and more.

Zoom Player is a robust media and DVD front-end player. It was designed to be simple at first glance while being remarkably dynamic and flexible when used to its full potential. It works in two modes: a Media mode which can play any file supported by DirectShow (any file which plays in MediaPlayer) and a DVD mode which uses pre-installed DirectShow DVD filters to play DVD content. It supersedes media player in all it's functions and provides several important functions that media player lacks. It provides special zooming functions to improve TV-output quality by eliminating overscan.

SmoothVideo Project (SVP) allows you to watch any video on your PC file with frame interpolation (like you can watch it on high-end TVs and projectors). It increases frame rate by generating intermediate animation frames between existing ones to produce very smooth, fluid and clear motion. The technology is well-known for a while ("TrimensionDNM", "Motion Plus", "Motionflow" and others), but now it's available for free to PC users with simple GUI and just a couple of mouse clicks.

Since version 3.0 SVP provides GPU acceleration and now it's possible to watch FullHD 1080p-video recalculated to 60Hz in real-time on any modern GPU hardware. Here is the speed comparsion (*) between CPU-only mode and GPU accelerated:

Announcement: the second beta version of WMP Tag Plus 2.11 is now (finally) available for download here. The first beta already introduced a setting to force Windows Media Player to write FLAC tag changes to file again (more about that here). In addition to that change, the second beta includes the following changes:

    Fixed: broken tag support since Windows 10 version 2004 (May 2020 Update).
    Windows 10 includes native Ogg Vorbis support but its tagging capabilities are very limited: only a small subset of tags is supported, such as duration and bitrate. Because of this, WMP Tag Plus now overrides the native Ogg Vorbis tagging support in Windows Media Player while the plug-in is active.
    WMP Tag Plus now shows a warning at Windows Media Player startup if Write media information changes in Windows Media Player's Library options is turned off, and offers you to turn it back on. This warning can be disabled by the user. Note: when choosing to turn the setting on, WMP Tag Plus needs to restart Windows Media Player for the change to take effect.
    Fixed: memory leak when using the Refresh song tags functionality.
    Fixed: long UI freezes when using a laptop pointing stick or touchpad to scroll the credits on the WMP Tag Plus About tab.

    Made the hotkeys 'k' (play forwards), and j (play backwards). Hitting them multiple times increments the speed of playback in that direction (or reverses the playback if less than the default speed). The previous 'k' (Clear Caches) is changed to SHIFT+'k' and 'j' (Swap FG/BG image) is changed to SHIFT+j.
    Made area selection be temporary when SHIFT+Drag. But be persistent when selected from the action tool box.

The idea is that if, for example, 'd' is assigned to draw, hitting 'd' will switch from scrub mode to draw mode and when released scrub mode will be selected again. This is similar to the SHIFT key of temporary selection mode.
    Split the hotkeys from the main preferences file. Now hotkeys are stored in a mrViewer.keys.prefs file in the $HOME/.filmaura directory.
    Made Text tool requester remember the font and size selected between each call.
    Bug fixed Text tool transparency on ghosting.
    Added Arrow Mode and Circle Mode to Action Tools (allows you to draw arrows and circles easily).
