Zoom Player is a robust media and DVD front-end player. It was designed to be simple at first glance while being remarkably dynamic and flexible when used to its full potential. It works in two modes: a Media mode which can play any file supported by DirectShow (any file which plays in MediaPlayer) and a DVD mode which uses pre-installed DirectShow DVD filters to play DVD content. It supersedes media player in all it's functions and provides several important functions that media player lacks. It provides special zooming functions to improve TV-output quality by eliminating overscan.

KMPlayer is a audio/video player that supports a wide range of file formats, including AVI, MKV, MPEG, OGM, MP4, ASF etc. without any additional codecs installed. It also has full VCD/DVD playback functionality. In addition, it is able to play incomplete/damaged AVI files, or media files that are locked while downloading or sharing.

Note: In the past, this application managed open source components against the terms of their respective licenses. The current status of this is unclear.

Syncplay is a really useful tool that allows people to enjoy a shared viewing experience no matter where they are in relation to each other. You and your friends can watch anime, movies, TV shows and other media together, as if you were sat in the same room together.

The Syncplay Client launches a media player on your computer, connects to a Syncplay server and joins a virtual room on that server. Pauses, un-pauses and seeks made within that media player instance are relayed to fellow viewers via the server to allow for these actions to be replicated by the media players of everyone else in the same virtual room. The server keeps track of where everyone is in the video so if someone joins they can be brought to the right place, and so if someone is too far ahead they can be brought back in sync.

New "Favorites" fullscreen navigation interface.
Any media can be added to the favorites list through the media library or
file browsing navigational interfaces.
Please note that this change required resetting the "Navigation
interfaces on main navigator" feature to it's default value
(AdvOptions / Interface / Fullscreen Navigation).
When using the "Open URL" function, a new "Clear playlist" checkbox is now
available (previously the playlist was always cleared).
With LAV Filters v0.71, a D3D11 hardware decoding mode has been added.
You can instruct LAV to use this mode automatically by setting the option
under "AdvOptions / Playback / Video".
The "Play History database may be corrupted" message will no longer
appear unless the play history file is actually corrupted.
You can now set the "Retain Media Playback History for" value to

The torrents plugin should now shutdown a little faster if Zoom Player

- Added interpreting foundry's YCbCr metadata for matrix transformation. Currrently, this leads to Rec 709 being added in the mrViewer color pipeline.

- Changed caching to a new algorithm that works better and faster.  It allows caching large scale images with audio, as long as memory is available to handle all the frames. It also allows jumping into the cache while playback is on.
