Hi,Today we are releasing the weekly developer update. We are wrapping up O41 dev cycle, focusing on quality for newly developed features. You can expect beta 41 release next or following week.
The stable channel has been updated to 53.0.2785.113 for Windows, Mac, and Linux. This will roll out over the coming days/weeks (MSI points to M53). Security Fixes and RewardsNote: Access to bug details and links may be kept restricted until a majority of users are updated with a fix. We will also retain restrictions if the bug exists in a third party library that other projects similarly depend on, but haven’t yet fixed.This update includes these security fixes. Today we share with you the Release Candidate with a few minor updates: Updated Chromium to 53.0.2785.101 Bugfixes for translations. Disabled background sync and push messages (they will be further evaluated for O41) Changed requirement for Sync password and passphrase to minimum 12 characters for new users. Added support for memory hard, Argon-2 based password hashing for authentication. Fixed Intel HD graphics-related crash, where you might have been experiencing black areas on top of the Opera window Fixed a crash on Linux for the ones of you who don’t see Opera Menu Since this is the RC, we are especially eager to find out from you about any issues that could be blocking the final release, planned next week.
Today we start work on version 1.5, with a fix for HTML5 Audio and Video and a bunch more improvements.The fix for HTML audio and video is for those of you running the Windows 32bit builds with no hardware acceleration. If the fix works for you, then it will be backported to Vivaldi 1.4 stable and we will issue a minor update.
