Nach zwei Updates im März hat Apple in der Nacht zum Dienstag eine weitere Aktualisierung für seine zentrale Multimedia-Verwaltung iTunes veröffentlicht. Version 10.2.2 behebt ein Problem, bei dem iTunes während der Synchronisation von iPads unter Umständen nicht mehr reagierte. Außerdem kümmerte sich Apple um einen Bug, der die Foto-Übertragung auf iPhone, iPad oder iPod touch deutlich verlangsamen konnte. Behoben wurden außerdem Probleme bei der Videovorschau im iTunes Store.

Apple hat auch die Stabilität und Performance weiter verbessert, behält Details dazu aber (wie üblich) für sich. iTunes 10.2.2 enthält die Neuerungen von iTunes 10.2.(1), darunter die Unterstützung von iOS 4.3 und ein optimiertes Home Sharing, mit dem sich iTunes-Bibliotheken auf anderen Geräten (Mac, PC, iOS) verwenden lassen.

Ganz problemfrei scheint die Aktualisierung auf die neue Version der Multimedia-Verwaltung allerdings nicht zu verlaufen: Vereinzelten Nutzerberichten zufolge kann es vorkommen, dass nach der Installation zunächst eine komplette Neusynchronisierung eines iOS-Gerätes ansteht. Dabei gehen zwar keinerlei Daten verloren, doch dauert der Vorgang etwa bei einem Gerät mit einem Speicherumfang von 32 GByte unter Umständen ein Stündchen. Ob die Neusynchronisation immer automatisch angestoßen wird, ist bislang noch unklar.

iTunes 10.2.2 liegt für Mac OS X ab 10.5 (76 MByte) sowie Windows XP, Vista und 7 (77 MByte in der 32-Bit-Fassung, 78 MByte in der 64-Bit-Version) vor. In der Windows-Variante wurde auch noch ein sicherheitsrelevanter Fehler behoben: Ein Man-in-the-Middle-Angriff in WebKit bei der Verwendung des iTunes Store war möglich, der zu Abstürzen und dem Ausführen beliebigem Codes führen konnte. Aktiv ausgenutzt wurde der Bug allerdings nach bisherigen Erkenntnissen nicht.

M3U Dropper creates, imports, and organizes playlist files that take selections from an audio/video collection and put them in an order of your choice. This is useful for example in creating a mix of songs or videos with a specific mood or purpose. As the name suggests, the program creates M3U files which are used in most software players (Winamp, Foobar, etc.) and some hardware players, but can also output M3U8, PLS, and WPL files.

Although other programs can generate these files, M3U Dropper can use a more portable method of relative pathways.

A 64-bit version is also available for download from the website.
