Nvidia hat einen neuen Grafiktreiber zum Download freigegeben. Mit ihm sollen unter anderem Final Fantasy XV, PUBG und Warhammer optimal laufen.

Nvidia hat den Grafiktreiber GeForce 391.01 WHQL veröffentlicht. Er enthält Optimierungen für die Spiele Final Fantasy XV, Playerunknown's Battlegrounds, Warhammer Vermintide 2 und World of Tanks. Der Treiber steht auf der Nvidia-Website zum Download bereit und ist je nach ausgewähltem Windows-Betriebssystem zwischen 392 MByte (Windows 7, 8, 8.1, Download) und 434 MByte (Windows 10, Download) groß. Der Treiber funktioniert mit Grafikkarten der Serien GeForce 400, GeForce 500, GeForce 600, GeForce 700, GeForce 900 und GeForce 1000 sowie mit der Volta-Grafikkarte Nvidia Titan V.

Final Fantasy XV mit Ansel-Support

Nvidia empfiehlt den 391.01 als "Game-Ready"-Treiber (Release-Notes: PDF) für die am 6. März erscheinende PC-Version von Final Fantasy XV. Über den Treiber unterstützt Final Fantasy XV die Nvidia-Tools ShadowPlay Highlights sowie Ansel – durch letzteres können Spieler ausgefeilte Ingame-Screenshots erstellen. Final Fantasy unterstützt außerdem verschiedene, Nvidia-proprietäre Techniken, nämlich Flow, HairWorks, ShadowWorks, Turf Effects und die Umgebungsverdeckung Voxel Ambient Occlusion (VXAO).

TinyNvidiaUpdateChecker is an open source app designed to replace GeForce Experience. It checks for the latest NVIDIA GeForce GPU drivers.

It should be noted before downloading that Windows SmartScreen and most antivirus programs will flag this as malicious. We've tested it, as always. It is safe, and we even ran it on our daily machine. GeForce Experience adds a lot of extra services and telemetry, so this is one way to avoid all of that. It walks you through checking for and installing the latest drivers, directly from the NVIDIA servers. We found it very simple to use a nice alternative to GeForce Experience.

Probleme mit DisplayPort-1.3- und 1.4-Displays soll ein Firmware-Update für diverse Nvidia-Grafikkarten ausräumen.

Manche Nvidia-Grafikkarten benötigen ein Firmware-Update, um Displays mit DisplayPort 1.3 und DisplayPort 1.4 problemlos anzusteuern. Nvidia stellt seit kurzem ein Firmware-Update-Tool für Windows bereit, welches die Firmware der jeweiligen Grafikkarte prüft und sie bei Bedarf aktualisiert. Danach soll es nicht mehr zu Bildaussetzern oder Abstürzen beim Hochfahren des Betriebssystems mit DP-1.3- oder DP-1.4-Displays kommen.
