Sorry, but I don't find TTX subs page selection in channel props, on the Dec. 31st version and German stations.
Changed channel list props to only show stations with TTX subs, and no Germans in there.
Checked through some of the remaining stations then, and for example RAI stations do show a page number for TTX subs, though no way to edit. See screenshot attached.
On German stations, I don't find anything similar, and even there, no way to edit. Example attached, showing "Das Erste HD".
I did update before and after, restarted SmartDVB, no change, no TTX subs page.
That's why I did not noitice any changes on this, and so I did not report.
What's wrong over here?
Like, would I have to start with a completely new channel database now?
Best regards
Jürgen

i should've been more precise
I meant those r the only alterations wrt last builds i sent here (means you don't have ttx sbtitle at station properties yet but just my current built, i just didn't want to send entire new build with only those minor alterations. Other then that like mentioned looks ready for beta

new tst build sent (with current date).
TTX sb-page should be settable now through station options.
Lots of alterations too to EPG, tried to integrate it somewhat with the new multi-record functionality (epg did not take note of that until now, still needs wrk hope not too much's broken at this build).
Also possible to save ttx pages now (incl. sb pages), a .txt file is created at the record folder for now.
Multi record mdapi's also been altered somewhat coz some users had notable issues wrt some plugins/addons (acamd here anyone?).
Also updated sqlite to most recent version, didn't notice issues what that upgrade till now myself.
Aspect ratio processing wrt the 'set aspect ratio from source' 's been altered to include preset for detected 4:3 or 16:9 ratio's (see general settings, option 'auto adapt etc' AR). There's also extra 'auto.." AR option to enable/disable this like pleased. A user suggested this feature 'nd i quite liked the idea so let me know the thoughts here about that

Hmm, the mdapi alterations killed the older plugins (Vahids and mdplug),, they do not appear in the plugins folder anymore here, and do not work anymore.

i don't delete stuff there so must be install issue, only the install tries to copy 'program files'/plugins to 'appdata/local/smartdvb' if found so might it hav something to do with that? Do you have backups to make sure coz smartdvb itself ofcourse would never try to remove a plugins, unless it's a humungous bug but don't think so? Did you select the default application data install folder? Did the install query you to copy the 'program files/smartdvb/plugins' etc to the appdata folder? Nothings really altered there so odd, probably install issue like said. R u operating with 64 bit os perhaps? Also do you have multiple mdapi .dll's at the same folder (so not at sub folders? I altered something there to not try to load other dll's if mdapi dll already loaded, could lead to errors i thought when too much helper dlls etc would b tried, if so try to put each each mdapi addon at seperate folder?). I just tried mdplug nd with me it appears do you see ny plugins?

I installed into the same folder as the versions before in "programs". There are 3 plugin dll's in the "plugins" folder, which was fine in your previous versions. Now there is only one showing up and working. And yes, it is a 64 bit system. What do you mean by installing the plugins into separate folders? How would they be called? I have plugins1 etc subfolders for the multirecordings already.

i mean if by accident you have more addon dll's at same folder (so eg plugins/mdapi.dll nd plugins/hadu.dll if you have this move the dll's to a seperate folder under plugins for now, eg plugins/vplug nd plugins/mdplug) but if you simply have them in seperate folders like (plugins/hadu/hadu.dll nd plugins/mdapi/mdapi dll that's not the issue (i'm not talkign about the plugins0 etc folders). I did actually make some alterations for 64 os due to some errors reports from users with 64 bit systems (amongst one some removing of file system redirection) which might also be at fault here (i use 32 bit do hence imight nog have noticed it). I added some checks to just dll load a single mdapi dll per folder, thinking this would prevent issue with loading othre non mdapi related dll's which sometiems also r distributed together with mdapi dll's, but i'll revert that soon then if that causes too many issues
excuses...

ok Jack, I'll try that later in the day and report.
Just quickly tested your suggestion and this works. Put vplug in "Plugins/vplug/" and that is fine!

Now basic operation of TTX subs is there.
My immediate findings:
- in channel props, there are two places for the TTX subs page now, in the TTX stream description (can be edited there) and as an extra entry, ID style
That's one to much, I suppose...
For both places, to give a working result, you have to enter a HEX value, that would get converted into the proper DEC value, like on ZDF enter 309, to let SmartOSD TTX subs list and display 777 correctly.
Same on Das Erste, have to set 96, to get P150 for TTX subs.
Does
NOT
reliably follow HEX/DEC switch in channel props!
This is logically wrong, for two reasons:
-1) people would have to calculate the subs page from DEC to HEX, to make it work --> merely impossible for the normal user
So allow people to enter 777, to get 777, please...
-2) in fact all valid TTX page numbers
ARE
in HEX, meant to allow hidden pages for paid services, like used on German RTL Television (and at least earlier on German ntv).
That pages weren't scrambled, but the standard user interface won't allow users to enter page numbers like 80F, which in fact is set as default start page on RTLtext on RTL Television on 19.2E 12187H, instead of P100 normally.
My receivers all try to start on 80F there, with no result, as that page does not seem to be transmitted (anymore).
Never locks there.
- TTX subs only appear in one single line (~ #25), at the very bottom of the screen, wheras normally two lines are in use, like you can see on the same subs page in TTX window or SmartOSD TTX.
Check in SmartOSD TTX, you are getting the usual two subs lines in normal TTX mode, and the second (only) repeated below all this.
Besides, TTX subs are using SmartOSD font type in a smaller size, not the user selected one for SmartOSD TTX.
Can't make a screen shot of this, as IrfanView won't capture SmartOSD, at all.
That's why I've made a real photo, quick and dirty...
To me it seems, TTX subs should either use the same display routine as SmartOSD TTX, or at least only be displayed, if SmartOSD TTX is toggled to OFF.
- TTX subs page resets to 0 on a rescan / channel update.
Obviously you can't scan for the TTX subs page, and there may even be more than one on a station (like on arte).
So, please don't let the subs page entry update, better keep it resident as a user option instead.
Perhaps also alow this for station names (displayed).
At least this would allow basic favs user sorting by renaming like "001 Das Erste HD", "002 ZDF HD" and so on.
- station change with TTX subs activated gives an exception error message "Exception in teletext parsethread".
And SmartDVB has severe trouble to close regularily, if TTX subs are active then.
Best regards
Jürgen

took some time to revert some issues from previous tst build.
Station props now should allow alteration of ttx title page only at ES dialog (always < 10 hex values now coz you're right users would not expect otherwise). Ended up re-implementing the ttx titles somewhat, mainly coz i saw some stability/performance issues when viewing fullscreen etc. Looks better here now. I never saw those 80F default ttx pages. The specs allow for setting the start page through seperate option's pages so to speak, but i never saw other then p100, those options probably never really made it to now. Settings should also be retained now nd not altered by scan´s, if so consider that a bug. Also the font issue's been looked at, looks ok here. Now it uses the ttx set font.
Mdapi's somewhat reverted again, nd more alterations to try to make multi-rcrds with addon usage more stable (it seems not all addons r made for re-init etc).
Also for me exit seem somewhat stable again, also with ttx titles enabled etc (seems this had to do with some compile options i altered wrt to mdapi).
Also some re-work wrt EPG, multi-language support's been added (actually i had done the parse implementation for the first tst here i just needed to wrap up the interface side of that). Probably not
much use here perhaps but i like it when such things turn out to operate quite nicely. Still might introduce some exceptions coz epg side needed some alteration.
Wrt station name alterations the scanner interface got this option ´update channel names if different in scan´, means the scanner by default does not update station names unless this option´s set. But the setting would not be retained so i added this option to the scanner settings (tools/settings/scanner) to retain them also made sure the 'UPDATE' at station properties now also takes note of this.
Also added a 'don't replace already set teletext subtitle page number' for situation when one actually needs to rewrite ttx pages.
Also some users reported issues with some codepages, so while busy with EPG anyhow i altered some stuff there to see if epg codepage support could be improved. Some providers don't even
provide correct codepage system data, so also added a default codepage option to the station properties dialog (specs tell to use 6937 iso if nothing else is indicated at stream, but some use other codepages it seems).
Anyhow sending current date build here tx again!
best regards
jj

No such start problems here.
Buit to avoid trouble, I did delete smarteit.db before anyway.
Did not yet find the time nor concentration for intensive testing, but obviously several changes are working as intended.
Just caught a bad cold, right now including all of the usual symptoms at the same time.
So first I will try all the tricks my granny taught me, to get better physically and mentally a.s.a.p.
And once at least that bad head ache will be gone, I'll continue for sure.
Of course, I could use some heavy stuff against the head ache now, but normally that would not really help on thinking precisely.
This way, for me the usual 'do not drive' warnings also mean, 'do not try to be logical'...
