AdwCleaner versucht Adware, Toolbars und eine veränderte Homepage im Browser zu entfernen. Dazu wird zuerst ein Suchlauf gestartet und im Anschluss erhält man eine TXT-Datei mit den Ergenissen angezeigt. Sollten mehrere Sachen gefunden werden, kann man leider nicht einzeln auswählen, was gelöscht werden soll. Einzig vor dem Suchlauf hat man die Möglichkeit, bestimmte Sachen auszuschließen. Dazu klickt man oben Links auf das Fragezeichen->Optionen.

"Don't Sleep" ist ein kleines Programm, welches während der Laufzeit verhindert, daß der PC in den Standby Modus oder Ruhezustand wechselt. Gerade beim neuen Windows-7, wie auch Vista, gibt es den Hybriden Standby-Modus. Dieser ist ziemlich aggressiv, und aktiviert sich auch teilweise bei höherer CPU-Last.

PassMark DiskCheckup allows the user to monitor the SMART attributes of a particular hard disk drive for possible long term drive failure, such as 'Spin Up Time', the number of start/stops, the number of hours powered on and the temperature. DiskCheckup displays the current values of the SMART attributes, along with the Threshold value for that attribute. If any attribute value is close to or below the threshold, the drive is no longer reliable and should be replaced.

DiskSmartView is a small utility that retrieves the S.M.A.R.T information (S.M.A.R.T = Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology) from IDE/SATA disks. This information includes the disk model/firmware/serial number, cylinders/heads, power-on hours (POH), internal temperature, disk errors rate, and more. You can use the S.M.A.R.T information retrieved by DiskSmartView to find out whether there is any significant problem in your disk drive.
