WebChangeMonitor allows you to monitor multiple webpages tracking changes based on webpage content.

WebChangeMonitor permits you to monitor several protocols, including HTTP and HTTPS. It also lets you view and record any webpage content differences. It is essentially a hybrid RSS reader with some options not offered by strictly a reader like displaying the GUID for the webpage, for instance.

the release 22.03 is still to come in the future, but already now I can tell that it brings some major new updates: 1.) Support for headers: These can be defined for a GET request and are useful, if the server requires some type of API token, for example. In that case this token must be provided through headers such that you can access the otherwise hidden content. Please note that this mechanism is explicitly different to cookies and used on many platforms that use a REST API. 2.) UI re-design of the item setup page: It is now layout in order of the process steps: So first generic settings, than wrt content the tags, filters and interpreter. The goal was to make it more compact and separate groups for a better understanding. This will also make it possible to extend the features in the future. Besides that quite an amount of tickets has been addressed. One of it is the introduction of a 3.) Tool registry where you can setup any amount of tools globally (in the configuration) and then link these tools individually on a per-item basis.

release 22.05 fixes several security flaws having its root in a third party library. So an update is recommended. It is always the focus to use up-to-date third party libs to keep the risk low so it is especially this time. This was also more important than addressing further feature request. However, several bug-fixes and improvements have been done, for example to Ignore patterns which can now be way easier re-sorted and even imported/exported to be modified externally by a spread-sheet tool, for example. Why is this important? Because the order and grouping of Ignore pattern matters. So updating ignore patterns is something that happens quite often due to changes on monitored items but the UI was limited - until 22.05. :-)
