Okay, Ladies & Gentlemen!

I had two hard days not testing but getting smart to run. To make a long story full of clicks short:
For crypted channels I have to set the device option to "Florian" to see all other channels I have to
reverse to "Technisat". That's a new one to me but not really botherin'. What I really don't understand
is, that I found no way on scanning Transponder 11362 on Astra 19.2 E. I tried every imaginable
modulation but could not scan the thing (das Erste HD, Arte HD and ZDF HD).

Does anybody have an idea how to tune in to that transponder (no probs with DVBViewer there!)?

Hi Jackjavo,

tested today the last exe you sent concerning EPG-based recording. I think I used any imaginable setting for a recording and it always worked fine ;Beifall.

@ ritschie

The Transponder 11362 on Astra 19.2 E problem I do not understand. Are you talking about the blind scanner or normal bda.dev. I am using the Florian version and that works ok  with botj of my cards.

@dada: I use technisat bda for non crypted and florian for crypted.

hi ritschibie: what module do you mean exactly by technisat bda (not skystar.dev i hope that's no bda and for skystar devices so if that seems to work something else odd is going on, can you check your devices directory and see what files are there?)

Hi jackjavo, for noncrypted programs I use the "BDA DVB-S/T/C ATSC Device" and for crypted the "Florian DVB-S/T/C ATSC Device". Find my devise subdirectory in the picture attached.

I've tested the timing mentioned, with the latest .exe you've sent in the morning, and it's working fine, both from main Window EPG area and from EPG window.
The delay for record stop does exactly what it is supposed to.

Good work, indeed  8)

Yet another tiny idea:
For a better user understanding, the message on double clicking from the EPG windwo bestter should be "Record this event now", instead of "Record this program now".
The expression "program" is to diffuse, as this word has a bunch of meanings.
(EPG) "event" would in any case be more precise.

Such may be pretty important, once we may try to translate SmartDVB, like into German...  ;)
BTW, what would be necessary to do this?

@ritchibie: about the bda.dev proglems with fta channel you're having. I'll send you the current bda.dev i have here at least. The only reason i can think of why this might be happening is perhaps the CI handling for some reason for you. Could you see if when turning that off bda.dev works for fta channels for u (even though i haven't changed anything there recently, but well for FTA nothing should be done and it should always work especially if crypted work, also if it still happens attach some logs after failed fta tuning or viewing smartdvb.log and bda.log).

@jurgen: ok good then, fiddling with dates that was. About that 1 min delay, i could also double check this when pressing the OK button  in the add task dialog and if the minute has passed add another one, or maybe simpler just add 2 minutes?

Yes thanks for reminding me of the translations, i still need to run through the application and move all translatable strings (in the blindscanner and such) to the resources (when programming i skip that as it's tedious to do and distracts from what you're doing, so i always kinda leave that for the release). I'm fixing some bugs/oversights in the blindscanner (correct sr skipping, also question for people using blindscanner here, do you see correct percentage values on the signal/quality progressbars? They dissapear here now with me on win7 32 while on my last install win7 64 i didnt see that, maybe some control version problem, or maybe even os?). And yes event seems better to use, also when recording perhaps radio 'program' does not seem that appropriate.

About translating. It's all resource based. So any tool that can translate resources into a dll should work. Last time i looked one good tool looked like lingobit for example. These tools are very versatile and that one had even things like automatic google translating and such (which not perfect but a good base to start, or even have something quickly). Alhough not as simple as just text translating it's much more versatile as you also can adjust the dialogs/menu's etc a bit whatever is needed to get the translation to show correctly. The dll's do have to have specific versioning information (and block header language information, last time i tried the trial of lingobit i could not change that anymore which was very tedious i had to resort to visual studio to change that value otherwise it won't be recognized as the correct language inside smartdvb). But some people even just translate the .exe resources, also possible ofcourse. The translated dll's then go into the language directory and smart should pick them up.

@jackjavo:
this problem reminds me of the early 0.2.5 (or 0.2.0) versions where it was possible to access CI only through the "Florian" BDA device. I remember that you wrote on that occasion that CI implementation is experimental and only possible through Flori. What I do not understand is that, at least on my system, I can watch without any problems Hotbird programs running Flori but no Astra channels. There I have to switch to "TT" BDA. Unfortunately the bda.dev that you kindly sent me did not change the situation.

Logging Transponder 11632 might be (I'm cautious there because dada tested only quickly) a TT S-2 3200 problem with the current smart module. dada wrote in the shoutbox that his tevii had no problems scanning that transponder whereas his TT S-2 3200 failed. Let's see if others with a TT like mine have problems here too.

hi again ritschibie: yes as silencer says can you double check your device settings, and before you said you need to change the commited settings for your device to show astra correctly, was this on bdas.dev or bda.dev? could also be a diseqc problem again ofcourse, but well technotrend diseqc has been quite tested also on bda.dev (oh and i also seem to remember you were using direct tuning mode somewhere, maybe in bda.dev as standard tuning didnt' work correctly for you, standard should really work no reason not to, so maybe this is still something that's there for you for some reason)
edit: and also about your scanning problems, did you do a sync with kingofsat just to be sure it's not another parameter problem?

Ok, we're making some progress now! I used Silæncers settings and could scan 11362 (erste, zdf & arte hd). Thx SiL!

I can even watch now with the "Florian" bda-d the Astra channels. I had to change from "Cyberlink h.264" to "Cyberlink 10.0"" which had the best and stable results (see picture annexed). The "Cyberlink h.264" produced after 5 sec a super slow motion picture.

Will report more if there is more to report  :)

Can anybody solve the question of the "Servus HD" transponder? On Astra 19.2 E I don't see frequency 12.663 (Servus TV HD) in the transponder list  ???

oh okay, but then you probably some time back changed the bda.dev settings manually? As technotrend really should be auto detected correctly.. odd. And if you were using XP for older cyberlink it was needed to use the AVC1 option when adding the HD decoder (with the 'add' button in the connection settings). On win7 i don't think older cl decoders work well (10 or above i used)..
edit: what are your transponder settings for that Servus HD frequency? i'll check them

Yes, I did. You sent me two or three bda.dev which I accordingly inserted into the device subdirectory.
I have the following OSD (picture 1) and Connection (picture 2) settings. On my system they proved to be stable and deliver a good picture.

@yvmifi: "for all channels" means you have scanned "Servus HD"?

Thx
