Could just test the new exe. Programming from the EPG works fine now as you described. Also progamming directly from the EPG box in the main window now works very nicely. Thanks a lot!

Since i got a TT s2-1600 today, i started testing the new interesting blindsscan function of smartdvb. Are there more people running this card with smartdvb?

I use multiswitch with quattro lnb. When scanning the channels of transponder 11856 V on 23E are found by blindscan at 12706. The difference is 850, so exactly the same as difference between lof1 and lof2 of lnb. I think that wrong output of lnb is selected for scanning?

Since florian bda is working perfectly it must be something in streamreader.dll or its settings.

jurgen, by the now event you mean in the MAIN epg window, and when adding that now task what time do you see there (should be current time + 1 min)
-1) How should I do this, 'record now' or 'schedule'?
-2) Where should I see this, in the scheduler dialog, or on the EPG window, or where else?

Tried again a moment ago, to start a recording for the Now event, but no success by addressing the scheduler.
Dialog opened, start time appeared one minute before the nominal event start time.
Confirmed, no recording started, nothing to be found in the scheduler, no anything whatsoever.

So, what did I misunderstand?

'Record Now' instead does start immediately, but I haven't yet tested, if this would then stop at the end of the event.
It's late now. To be continued tomorrow, I hope.

@ yvmifi
The new .exe version is tested internally right now, not publically available for now.

@ moonchild
Did you mess around with the LNB cables recently?
If so, check all of those, one by one.
Else, of course this could as well point to some weird 22kHz switching issue, either hardware or software related  :-\
Perhapos first compare with another software.

p.s.
@ jackjavo
yet another indea for possible future improvement:

Also depending on the tuner in use, and it's timing behaviour, it may be better, to change the scanning method.

Better not hop from H to V transponders and back, but do all the H first, all the V later.
Changing polarisation on each scanning step is not the best way for a full scan, as this requires quite some time for re-stabilisation of the tuner.

For example, if having quite some level differences between H and V, a tuner may need some extra time, to readjust AGC.
Another extra long timing may be required, if AFC had to compensate an eventual LOF offset.
My DVB-S2 tuner may in extreme cases need up to 10 seconds all together. This goes for the original application as well.

And there are two extreme positions, that have such strong level differences here, Astra 28.2°E due to the islands heading beams, and 30°W.

So, from my point of view it might be better, to not change switch states frequently during scanning.
Just scan one reception plane after the other, like most receivers do.
And maybe introduce two sets of timings, one for without switching action, and the other for switching only.

@yvmifi: i'm sending the new test-builds by pm here (don't want buggy versions spread). So i'll send it to you if you want it too (is there an easier way to send multiple same pm's here (probably just "name1", "name2" etc? in the to field).

@jurgen: ahh okay sorry, i see there's a mixup here. I thought you meant double-clicking on the current even in the main smartdvb epg window (so not the blue full EPG let's say). There the changes should be there. It's not hard to also incorporate that in the full epg (i haven't spent much time on that for a while as i want to remake that, these things were graphically quickly made way back as i was more busy with figuring out the inner workings).
And yes you're right about the V/H changing, at the moment you can select the H/V polarities with the 'select'  option in the scanner, i know other people do it like that. And i also might add sorting or alike of the transponder lists in the future to make this easier then.

@moonchild: i see this is probably a problem in the blindscan.dev which is used by the blindscanner (which you also btw can select as a module to tune, i assume when you do that it probably also won't tune correctly as i think there are probably errors there in the handling of the different lnb's, don't think it's  streamreader.dll problem as that's just a raw diseqc call which should always work as streamreader is much used by people, so i'll look at that thanks).

@ Jürgen: cables are ok, bda.dev is working ok. 22 kHz switching should not be a problem either since IF's on multiswitch are selected by diseqc command.

@ jackjavo: i found out that i can tune using the blindscanner module. But i need to use raw diseqc for it to work. E0 10 39 F1 for uncommited switch and E0 10 38 F1 for multiswitch, when looking at streamreader.log this gets translated to SendDiseqCmd(0x0827F39C, 4), SendDiseqCmd(0x0827F39C, 4). Looks strange to me.

SendDiseqCmd(0x0827F39C, 4) from streamreader does not seem to be actual diseqc command, value does not change after using different raw command. After closing/restarting smartdvb the value is now SendDiseqCmd(0x07FEF39C, 4), no matter what raw comand is being sent  ???

Blindscan module is working ok with raw diseqc commands. But changing settings within the module is not enough, i have to leave the module and change raw diseqc the normal way. Great stuff :)

hi moonchild. Just a quick answer concerning these odd senddiseqccmd values you seem to have. Have not heard this before, have you tried updating your streamreader.dll to a newer available (still have to do that also here as there are some changes there i also can incorporate (better dvb-t detection etc). The raw command is simply passed nothing is converted on my side so well i dunno what crazycat logs there, can't imagine the byte order of the command being different either in the senddiseqccmd (would be very odd i think). There can be various issues i think with streamreader, have you read around about your specific card or tried other versions? Just to be sure.

So this is what I misunderstood, in fact.

Well, now I can confirm, scheduling an already running event from the EPG area of the main window DOES work as expected.
Double click opens the scheduler dialogue, start time is set for the next minute, stop time according to the event.
However, the user may have to be fast on confirming, if he's doing this within the last second(s) of the minute.

BTW, the user can set additional time for the scheduler. Did not yet test, if this also effects that quick scheduling start and / or end time.
In my understanding, the start time should not be effected in this situation, but the end time still should.
Now I am planning to test this tomorrow.

Hi Jurgen. Yes you´re right, i´m will add this to the full EPG too and i already noticed the end time needs a fix also so wait before testing this until i send you the next exe.
