hi ritschibie  Well i'm surprised too, i thought it would be harder or some specific problem with your cam/card, is the channel loading fast or much slower compared to other non-cam crypted channels for example (just wondering because of those delays)?. But i'd still like to know if the reset works? As this might be needed, perhaps also on other tt cards, and i'd still like to add some auto-reset after a couple of errors there if he reset works okay? Oh you can also change the audio easily in the channel properties window, just use the elemetary streams audio comobox. And in the scanner settings you can set your preferred scan languages, just make sure it uses the same 3 letter characters you se in the channel properties (in the audio combobox there). I might also add some option for this outside of the scanner in the future to autoselect some preferred languages without needing to rescan or change channel audio settings (some users mentioned this in the past).

indeed, the loading of non camcrypted prgrams is faster in my experience but not much faster (in secs I would give 1 sec + for camcrypted ones). If you mean the cam reset, yes it works (under "tools\settings\CI\Reset Cam"). BTW I had to put the PMT send count to 3 to get the changing of channels running. With the pmt send count on 0 i got no reaction (picture) on changing channels.

The audio is perfect like this. It allows you to change from german to the english original on most of the SKY Cinema films! Only if the english soundtrack is not included you might have to change to get a sound.

Yesterday I started testing the "record" functionality. Randomly I have chosen Cinema HD in the SKY pack. Pushed the "rec" knob and on the sidebar "3 hours". Then I selected "shutdown" in the relevant field. In the morning the PC was still running and the recording was "on". Got over 15 GB data 

Is this only happening to me? Am I using the record knob in a wrong way?

Maybe somebody on the board using smartdvb can test this function on his system and report?

BTW: Recording in HDTV was flawless

Yes i meant the tt cam reset, had never worked before i  think so good to have this verified. Well i had had a thought recently of maybe just adding a toolbar button for audio selection also, might be handier (i'll keep the icon too, it was there also before only smaller :-). Oh and thanks for reporting that timer problem, i think this is just an oversight (never used that much myself) in that it will work when you select it without starting the record first but not if you select the timer option after having started the record manually yourself, i'll also set the timer in such case then hopefully that's all that's needed here (i did test the shutdown etc functionality itself and that should work as long as it gets there)..
edit: i've sent you a link again with a fix for this hopefully (even tested it once).
edit2: oh and btw did you also try setting the pmt count to 1 and did that work or not? I can imagine that would be faster, depending on what these cams do on multiple pmt sending (i hope they're clever enough to detect the same pmt entering if already set (or do cams differ in operation with this? Asking as you say sending the pmt continually doesn't work and i'm wondering if this is a smartdvb problem or a cam problem)..

Sorry for not answering your questions asap but yesterday in the early evening Munich experienced heavy snowfall and the dish was several times blocked for signals  

Concerning the tt cam reset I should report more precisely: I called the function (under tools/settings/CI) and pressed "Cam reset". Instead of getting the usual message "Cam reset failed" it seemed like it worked. I then pushed the "ok" button and the program continued normally but I could'nt see any difference pushing the button meaning that I could not check the functionality of this button!

One thing I could check yesterday was the time setting in the recording function. As you advised, I first selected 1:30 h recording time then "shut down". It worked (incl shut down) but the recorded file showed 0 bytes. Could you pls check that? I rechecked and had the same result after 0:30 h recording time.

Will test again.

edit: Yes, I tried the pmt send on "1" but that seems to harden channel change. I returned to "3" and with that setting I have no channel change difficulty.

Today I tried to record manually. I wanted to record an afternoon football match on "SKY". I chose the channel and started recording at 15:30 h. Thereafter I minimized SmartDVB to the tray. I forgot to manually stop the recording at 17:20 h. At 18:00 h I wanted to reexpand SmartDVB from the tray (doubleclick). I saw only the picture in the Smart window - no menues! I minimized the program again and...it disappeared! I could only see in the taskmanager that the process was still ongoing.

I don't know if these things happen only when crypted programs are recorded, will test that tonight with recording 2 h of "das Erste" with the program in the tray.

hi. quickly looked at this, for ts records with me this doesn't fail. Do you have mpg records on? For me that now does strange things, so that's broken!
so if you have that on it's unstable with that it seems here too! If so turn back ts recording. If you're not using mpg but normal ts, what are your other
recording settings (use guide name or not etc, do you have the new free disk space check on etc??) might be something introduced ofcourse...

hab nun mal PowerDVD 10 installiert. Es ändert an dem EPG Problem nichts.
Bei Nutzung eines Cyberlink Codecs stabiles Bild unter HD hier nur mit Overlay. Allerdings geht dann beim beenden des EPG der DVD Player fest. Benden nur mit Task Manager.
VMR 7 oder 9 bringen ein ruckelndes Bild, daß gelegentlich in Klötzchen zerfällt. EVR funktioniert hier gar nicht.
Gute Ergebnisse bringt allerdings der Core AV Codec. Allerdings mit ca 40-50% CPU Last, was aber nicht stört. Bild ist ausgezeichnet, EPG ist OK.
Fazit, es könnte generell an ATI (oder meiner Version) liegen. Ritschie hat Nvidia und Sil auch. Was Jürgen, jackjavo, moonchild  und Dragonix haben weis ich nicht.

Yes, jackjavo, I had mpg selected. Changed now to TS recording. This seems flawless (only short blocks recorded). The mpg choice did'nt work at all for me. Will report after a longer recording session (2 hours tomorrow) with TS and crypted streams. Thx for the ts info.

hi i think i found this finally, was introduced in the check free space indeed . I'll send you a link again with this fix. (also tested it with 1 min recordings). Btw you shouldn't really use mpg yet as that does not record all channels correctly (a lot but not all), i have wanted to rewrite that for quite some time as it has some design flaws from the beginning, as it also needs an update to record AC3 which now does not work but is possible with mpg (at that time i didn't bother thinking about that when making the mpg code).
@kater: well i haven't used many ati cards. But i tried cl10 a while back with a newer ati on xp and that also didn't give me HW accel. Maybe you can try cyberlink 9-8 (i didn't go that far when testing as i wasn't testing codecs on xp). I think cl9 should also give accel for older ati cards, maybe even better than the newer ones on xp (not sure about this, but i think your ati is quite older?). Do you have the same problems with other apps btw or only smartdvb? If so would be interesting to know...

ich hab hier CL7, CL9 und CL10 probiert. Alle produzieren meist das gleiche Ergebnis. Gutes, stabiles HD Bild nur mit Overlay. Beim beenden des EPG friert Smart meist ein.
Ich vermute, daß es bei dem Zurückschalten des kleinen Vorschaubildes im EPG auf das große Bildschirmfenster zu Problemen kommt.
Dies kann allerdings auch an meiner betagten ATI Graka liegen.
Ich verwende ansonsten noch DVB Viewer und AltDVB. Dort benutze ich auch Overlay als Renderer und die CL Codecs. Ich hab damit die besten Ergebnisse.

@kater: did you try settings the avc1 mediatype when adding the cyberlink codecs, this can be necessary on xp if i recall correctly. Oh and i also have that freeze with overlay on epg close, so will check (hardly test that anymore as vmr9/evr should also work fine on xp with cyberlink, maybe silencer can give some pointers).

After a little break i've put up the rc version on the smartdvb.net website. Not many changes since last tests here, but the overlay/EPG issue which kater mentioned should be fixed i hope (kater can you verify this).
