Mixxx allows DJs to mix music digitally with a clean, simple interface. Futhermore, Mixxx has a number of key features to help DJs live in the mix: Beat estimation, parallel visual displays, and support for various DJ hardware controllers.

Mixxx is designed with a strong focus on interaction. Mixxx is easy to use for novice and professional DJ's, including live performances. Import M3U and PLS playlists from any program, as well as drag-and-drop tracks right into Mixxx.

 Rapid Evolution ist ein DJ-Programm zum Mixen von Musikstücken. Zur Installation benötigt es die Java-Laufzeitumgebung. Rapid Evolution bringt eine Datenbank mit, in der Songs in allen gängigen Dateiformaten (MP3, WAV, Ogg Vorbis, AAC) gelistet und nach Tempo, Tonart, Länge und Stil gefiltert werden können, um beim Auflegen möglichst organische Übergänge zu erhalten.

Rapid Evolution importiert komplette Unterverzeichnisse mit MP3-Dateien und liest deren ID3-Tags aus. Was dann noch zum Mixen fehlt, sind Informationen zur Tonart (Key) und zum Tempo (BPM). Die Software ermittelt beides auf Wunsch automatisch. Um das Tempo an andere Songs anzupassen, kann Rapid Evolution die Stücke verlangsamen, ohne die Tonhöhe zu verändern.

Neu ist die ASIO Integration, Verbesserte Waveformdarstellung, Beatgrids verbessert und Beats werden nun über den ganzen Song berechnet, Beatgrids in der Waveform liegen nun direkt gegenüber und sind grösser, Langes drücken auf CUE springt zum Songanfang, BPM Näherungssuche +/- 3 BPM, Komplettes Soundhandling wurde umgestellt, BrennTemp Funktion zum schnellen (echten) kopieren von MP3 in einen vorher festgelegten Windows Ordner aus DigiJay heraus, Browser Gruppenfarben werden nun gespeichert und wieder hergestellt nach löschen und Neu HDD Import, Midi Funktionen wurden erweitert, Neues Design für Dialog- und Meldungsboxen.
