Sichere Passwörter sind im heutigen Internet ein muss.Wer sichere Passwörter haben möchte, kann sich PWGen bedienen.PWGen erzeugt Passwörter mit Längen von bis zu 2048 Bits, die sich auch als binäre Schlüsseldateien für Verschlüsselungs-Zwecke speichern lassen.Das Programm verwischt beim Beenden oder auf Wunsch sämtliche Spuren im Speicherbereich.

Da man jedoch nicht nur ein Passwort im Einsatz hat, hat man kaum die Möglichkeit, sich diese alle zu merken. Hier empfiehlt es sich, Programme wie z.B. KeePass oder Passwort Safe zu nutzen. Man muss sich nur noch ein Passwort merken.

    Drag & drop support for the password boxes in the main window and in the "MP Password Generator" dialog, as well as for password lists: a drag & drop operation can be started by left-clicking on the password security bar below the password box and holding the mouse button; in the password list window, text can be directly dragged from the password list itself; the password(s) (or a selection thereof) may be dropped to any application registered as a drop target; conversely, the password boxes can act as drop targets and receive text from other applications.

Fixes:

    In the "Create Trigram File" dialog, clicking on the Browse button ("...") next to the source file box opened a "Save as" dialog rather than an "Open file" dialog.
    Fixed some issues concerning the "Always on Top" option.
    "About" window was not sized correctly for higher DPI settings (>96 dpi).
    Profiles deleted by the user were not removed from .ini file if settings were saved during runtime (before exit).
    Fixed fatal error when user attempted to generate passwords with "Format password" checked but empty box.

This utility scans the passwords stored by popular Windows applications (Microsoft Outlook, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and more...) and displays security information about all these passwords. The security information of every stored password includes the total number of characters, number of numeric characters, number of lowercase/uppercase characters, number of repeating characters, and password strength. You can use this tool to determine whether the passwords used by other users are secured enough, without watching the passwords themselves.

System Requirements

This utility works on any version of Windows, starting from Windows 2000 and up to Windows 10.

Alternate Password DB is a small and easy to use utility that can safely store all your passwords. With only one password you get access to the crypted data (BLOWFISH 256 bit).

The following entry types are available :
· Simple text
· Username/Password with comment
· Files (for example pictures)
· Tables

This entries can be stored in folders and subfolders. Cut/Copy/Paste of these entries are possible. Password files can be converted to an executable file, which can be ported on USB-stick or other moveable drives without the need to install this program.

You may also configure the program to lock itselft after period of time (main password will be required again). So your data will still be safe while the program is running and you have to leave your PC.

The entered data is crypted by saving and only accessable using a user defined password.

At the left there is a treeview, where elements (folders, subfolders, text-entries, keys, tables, files) can be added, modified or removed. At the right you find the content of the currently selected element.

Strong Passwords Need Entropy (S.P.N.E.) is a handy and lightweight application that you can use to determine the strength of your password. The program analyzes your password and displays its length, the character frequency and the number of symbols, lowercase and uppercase letters and digits.
Based on this information, it calculates the password entropy and the number of tries needed to find it.

S.P.N.E. also includes a great password generator.
