Mnemosyne is a feature-rich flashcard memorization tool. It uses an advanced algorithm to determine when each card should be shown to maximize effectiveness.

Features

The Mnemosyne software resembles a traditional flash-card program to help you memorise question/answer pairs, but with an important twist: it uses a sophisticated algorithm to schedule the best time for a card to come up for review. Difficult cards that you tend to forget quickly will be scheduled more often, while Mnemosyne won't waste your time on things you remember well. Diffinity is a text comparison and merging tool focused on source code differences. It will compare the contents of two text files and display differences by line as well as individually modified characters/words. The program supports drag and drop, a thumbnail view of all differences, instance and syntax highlighting, update as-you-type (live view), customizable interface and more.

The program can display differentiation between changed, removed, and added lines, and supports Unicode and it auto-detects encoding.

QTranslate is a front-end for various translation websites including Google, Microsoft, Babylon and Babelfish. Open the main window to enter or paste text (up to 100 characters), or simply select text and press a hotkey for a popup translation window. The program also has the ability to speak text and do a web search.

Although the hotkeys can be modified, by default:

    Show the translation window: CTRL+Q (press CTRL twice for the main window)
    Speak text: Ctrl+E
    Perform a web search: Ctrl+W

GetWindowText ist ein sehr kleines und portables Programm, mit dem Sie Fenster- texte auslesen können. Mit einem Klick der linken Maustaste auf die Schaltfläche mit GetWindowText Icon und durch das Gedrückthalten der linken Maustaste (drag), kann das Auslesen gestartet werden. Danach einfach die Maus über das Fenster halten, von welchem aus der Text ausgelesen werden soll.

Ausgelesen werden fast alle Texte, wie z.B. aus Edit- , Static- , Groupbox - Controls, usw.
Unterstützt werden auch Verzeichnisbäume (SysTreeView32) und Listenansichten (SysListView32), hier wird der komplette Inhalt ausgelesen. Beim Loslassen der Maustaste wird das Auslesen beendet.

DShutdown is a stand-alone program that allows you to easily shutdown and wake up local or remote PCs, with many specific options.

DShutdown supports more than just standard shutdown options, there are options relating to "pure" shutdown (such as the "force after wait" option which causes a forced, but 'clear' shutdown). There are monitoring options that allow you to shutdown a PC after a particular application terminates (useful at the end of compressing several files). There are also options to shutdown a PC when Internet traffic reduces below a particular data-rate (useful to shutdown a PC when it has finished a large download).

Balabolka is a feature-rich program to read text aloud from a variety of file types including DOC, RTF, PDF, ODT, FB2 and HTML. The program uses Microsoft's own Speech API 4 and 5, but lets you fine tune various voice parameters, including rate and pitch, and a substitution list can also be applied to improve the quality of the voice's articulation. The program supports customized font and background color, skins, control reading from the system tray or by the global hotkeys.

Balabolka can also save the synchronized text to external LRC files or in MP3 tags inside the audio files. When the audio file is played with players on a computer or on modern digital audio players, the text will be displayed synchronously (in the same way as lyrics for songs).

Also includes batch conversion tools from of a wide variety of document formats to audio or plain text and a file compare tool, file splitter, and screen magnification window.

DSpeech is a text-to-speech program with the option of saving the output to a variety of formats, great for creating audio books from text sources. It also supports dynamically changing the features of the voices eg. insert pauses, emphasize specific words, spell them out etc. using tags.

The program can import text from TXT, DOC, DOCX, RTF, HTML, XML, and PDF and output to MP3, OGG, AAC, WMA.

DSpeech works out-of-the-box on WinXP and above because the Microsoft speech engine SAPI5 is included by default. For WinNT/2K, you will need to install the speech engine separately. You will find links to plugins, speech engines and voice sets on the program website.
