Tail4Windows is a handy tool that can offer a solution to this problem. The application allows you to monitor the changes that affect your system, by monitoring the entries of your log files, which can have the LOG or TXT format. The program requires .Net Framework installed on your computer in order to properly work.

SoundSwitch makes it easier to switch playback devices (sound cards).

Normally, to switch a playback device you need to right click the sound icon in the bottom right corner of your screen (system tray), choose 'Playback Devices' and then change the Default Playback Device. Every time you want to switch.

With SoundSwitch you just configure once between which playback devices you want to toggle and then you can press Ctrl+Alt+F11 to toggle automatically!

This program gives you the opportunity to shutdown your computer either after a period of time or at a specific date/time setting.

In addition it offers the possiblity to restart the computer after being shut down or send the computer to hibernation. You may also choose a force parameter which will close running applications that are hanging.

The program may be shown as tray icon to avoid using space in the task bar, if the shutdown time is set to a longer period of time.

Auto Recycle Bin permits you to automate the process of cleaning up of your recycle bin.

The manual process for emptying your recycle bin is not complicated at any stretch, but it can be overlooked resulting in quite a full bin after a while. Auto Recycle Bin is designed to ensure that you never need to think about or remember to do it ever again. It uses specific rules for operation; time specified deletion, size of files, and overall size of the bin itself against your machine's free disk space.

Auto Recycle Bin has three launch options to choose from; manually which only deletes when the app is launched, at Windows startup, and always on which periodically processes items. The third option uses the least amount PC resources. If you are constantly working on your machine, then this will be a helpful addition to keep your recycle bin managed without needing to give it a second thought. DSpeech is a text-to-speech program with the option of saving the output to a variety of formats, great for creating audio books from text sources. It also supports dynamically changing the features of the voices eg. insert pauses, emphasize specific words, spell them out etc. using tags.

The program can import text from TXT, DOC, DOCX, RTF, HTML, XML, and PDF and output to MP3, OGG, AAC, WMA.

DSpeech works out-of-the-box on WinXP and above because the Microsoft speech engine SAPI5 is included by default. For WinNT/2K, you will need to install the speech engine separately. You will find links to plugins, speech engines and voice sets on the program website.
