Das freie Content Management System Kajona ist in Version 3.4.1 erschienen. Die Entwickler haben eine relativ große Zahl von Neuerungen in diese Version einfließen lassen.

Knapp fünf Monate nach Version 3.4.0 ist die aktualisierte Version 3.4.1 des freien Content Management Systems Kajona verfügbar. Die neue Version mit dem Codenamen »Connectivity« enthält im Portaleditor eine neu Funktion zur Anzeige von inaktiven Seitenelementen. Die Seitengenerierung wurde beschleunigt. Zusätzlich zur bisher verwendeten JavaScript Bibliothek YUI wird Kajona 3.4.1 auch mit jQuery ausgeliefert. Für kommende Versionen wird jQuery mindestens im Portal das bisher eingesetzte YUI ersetzen. YUI wurde auf die neuste Version aktualisiert.

Das neu hinzugekommene Element »Directorybrowser« kann zum Auflisten von Ordnerinhalten verwendet werden. Das Exportieren und Importieren von Seiten wird durch Systemtasks ermöglicht. Das in Version 3.4.0 neu aufgenommene Modul »Eventmanager« bietet nun auch eine kalendarische Ansicht der erfassten Termine samt Verlinkung auf die Veranstaltungsdetails an.

Das gesamte Benutzer-Subsystem wurde grundlegend überarbeitet. Es unterstützt nun die Anbindung an verschiedene Benutzerquellen. So können neben der Kajona-internen Benutzerverwaltung beispielsweise auch LDAP-Verzeichnisse eingebunden werden. Eine erste Umsetzung eines LDAP-Konnektors ist ebenfalls verfügbar.

Viele Kajona-interne Methoden sind nun auch per REST zugänglich. Unter Verwendung dieser REST-Schnittstellen wurde eine kleine experimentelle Android-App geschrieben, welche die generelle Funktionsweise der Verbindungen belegt. Die Datenbank-Abstraktion wurde um experimentellen Oracle-Treiber ergänzt. Eingehende Anfragen werden von einem neu aufgenommenen Request-Dispatcher entgegengenommen und an die entsprechenden Subsysteme verteilt. Dies vereinheitlicht den Kontrollfluss innerhalb des Frameworks grundlegend.

Kajona Version 3 wird nach der aktuellen Planung nur noch einige Fehlerkorrekturen erhalten, da sich das Team größtenteils der Version 4.0 widmen will, die viele Stellen des Systems neu strukturieren wird. Nähere Informationen hierzu wird es zu gegebener Zeit auf der Kajona-Webseite geben.

Eine Liste aller Änderungen findet sich im Changelog. Das Update wird wegen der wichtigen Korrekturen bezüglich Sicherheit und Browser-Kompatibilität allen Anwendern empfohlen. Kajona steht unter den Bedingungen der GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) Version 2.1 und kann von der Seite des Projektes heruntergeladen werden.
