Ein Urteil, in dem Anbietern von E-Book- und Hörbuch-Downloads das Recht zugebilligt wurde, Weiterverkäufe der Inhalte zu untersagen, ist nun rechtskräftig. Der deutsche Buchhandel ist zufrieden.

Anbieter von E-Book- und Hörbuch-Downloads dürfen den Weiterverkauf der Dateien untersagen. Ein entsprechendes Urteil des Oberlandesgerichts (OLG) Hamm aus dem Mai dieses Jahres ist jetzt rechtskräftig geworden. Wie der Bundesgerichtshof in Karlsruhe am Donnerstag bestätigte, hat der Verbraucherzentrale Bundesverband e.V. seinen Einspruch gegen die Entscheidung des OLG, eine Revision nicht zuzulassen, zurückgenommen hat. Die Verbraucherzentrale hatte gegen einen Online-Händler geklagt, der das Verbot des Weiterverkaufs in seinen Allgemeinen Geschäftsbedingungen verankert hat. (BGH AZ: I-ZR 120/14, OLG Hamm AZ: 22 U 60/13)

Das nun rechtskräftige Urteil sei ein wichtiges, positives Signal, hieß es in einer Mitteilung des Börsenvereins des Deutschen Buchhandels. Die Entstehung eines Gebrauchtmarktes für E-Books und Hörbücher könne weder im Sinne der Autoren, Verlage und Händler noch der Kunden sein. Der Primärmarkt für digitale Inhalte würde in einem solchen Fall völlig zusammenbrechen. "Für Verlage wäre es unmöglich, digitale Buchinhalte gut und kostengünstig für den Leser anzubieten, die Autoren angemessen zu vergüten und gemeinsam mit dem Handel weiter an nachhaltigen und kundenfreundlichen Download-Modellen für Bücher zu arbeiten", wurde der Justiziar des Börsenvereins, Christian Sprang zitiert.

    An all new random cover generation algorithm, which generates covers using many different color schemes and cover styles

    Now when you click the Generate cover button in the Edit Metadata dialog a cover based on the book metadata is generated using random colors and styles. You can customize the random cover generation by long clicking the Generate Cover button, which will popup a dialog where you can create new color schemes and customize other aspects of the generated cover as well.
    Edit Book: Redesign the saved searches pop-up as a dockable window. Editing saved searches now happens inline and the global search/replace keyboard shortcuts work in the saved searches window

    E-book viewer: Show footnotes in a separate popup window

    Now when you click on a link to a footnote/endnote, the corresponding note is shown in a separate popup window, for convenient reference. Footnote links are recognized using the EPUB 3 footnote markup as well as some heuristics. Any superscript or subscript links are assumed to be footnote links. Any link that links to another file which in turn links back to the original link, is assumed to be an endnote.
    Cover Grid: Improve scroll wheel based scrolling.

    On windows and linux a single "tick" of the wheel now scrolls by about half a row instead of a full screen. On OS X, scrolling is pixel based, so as you scroll faster, more content is scrolled.
    Get Books: Add the Bubok Portugal store
    Performance improvement for large libraries that using custom columns built with templates
