I don't think, that is the problem. SmartDVB has all rights to get through the firewall, but the report function seems to be a different programme. Could you tell me the name of it?

Edit: Found it: Crashsender

Yes, starts quite fast, but as I always get an error when quitting SMartDVB, the "tune last channel on startup" does also not function.

Hi jack,

could you check if the function "at end/shutdown" is enabled? That's when you let smart record from - let's say - 15h until 17h and you're out of home and want the computer shut down because you'll be out until late in the evening.  Under 025 this worked perfectly. Under 030 I tested this two days ago in the night and right now in the afternoon. Twice it would not work.

@sn**p: no need.
@r*ch*b**: i just checked this. I think this just runs like expected when the 'record' button (which i call main) 's used, otherwise if multiple rcrds r busy how do i know after which one to 'close/suspend/etc'? Cud also confuse people if allowed at some form with multi-rcrds?? So if u fe st*rted 1 multi-rcrd, then set act 'quit/etc' maybe that confused u? Might be mistaken ofcoz at which situation still cud b real bug :).

odd that bdas issue. I presume u exec sdvb non-elevated atm? Cud you see if administrator exec makes difference
All recent tests are done with admin rights of the user AND activated from the desktop icon link props.

Though, also paths may be an issue there.
So the next tests will include running SmartDVB from another partition, either NTFS or FAT32, and may well be, also without admins rights for the exe, granted by link props.
Hope to find the time later on Monday.

And it is the December 1st version already, also in my latest PM report.

Or to be more precise, it should be.
How could I find out for sure, as the .exe file creation / change date and time are identical, same as the version displayed?
Right now, I am just installing every test update directly over the existing one, not side by side.
But may be next time I should change the install path again, to be on the safe side.

Hi

tried twice again since yesterday to shut down computer via smart 0311 under Vista. First test yesterday evening from 20:00 hours until 22:00 hours single record was on and option "at end" was set to shutdown (22:00). At 22:05 nothing happened, system still running. Next test with single record was this morning 01:00 hours. Option "at end" was set to 03:00 hours (shut down). Went to bed and this morning system was running.

Anybody out here who can test this function? Just to make sure that this behaviour is not only related to my system.

@jurgen: hmm, i'll make sure to alter the version # each time now (been careless with that so for, although internal installer version needs tb altered each time, not necessarily smartdvb.exe, but i'll make sure of that nxt time also coz i remember i think r*ch*b** (if i remember correct) also having such issue, which i never really found i remember, back then it seemed sometimes the install didn't alter the .exe which lead to confusion.

@r*ch*b**: hold ur horses! I think i found the issue (code's altered coz of the multi-rcrds). I think it fails if you initialize record (main) 'nd alter the 'quit/shutdown/etc' option through menu afterwards, if it's set before it seems to work (if i go the logic now). Testing nd hopefully fixed with next update! Excuses for the mixup (well i just tsted it wrong didn't realise there were like 2.0001 paths! :)...

thx jack  ;)

Good to know that it's not a personal or system based error. I think one can live with that for the time being. And you're right: I always set first the "remaining" time" and then I click the "shut down" button...

Confirmed.
The extra .exe you've provided me with today did work, and the nasty illegal file name issue seems to be gone.
Just tested several other station name captures, like some including question marks.
Space instead of illigal chars obviously does the job.

Hope this is a 100% solution.
Have not yet looked into Windows file names limitations all to deep.
But there's one thing I am aware of:
Normally Windows does not allow a user, to start a file name with a space.
For testing only I've set name generation rule to
%C%Y%M%D-%H%m%S%C

Now using a station with a name like
?ONTV? Regional
(on 11523H22000 19.2'°E)
leads to a record file name starting with a space.
Find my screen shot attached and look at it precisely ;)
BTW, once using copy and paste for such a file, or just trying to renaming it, Windows would remove the starting space automatically.

So from my point of view, it would be better to change for _ instead of space, at least if the illegal char is the leading one.
Else a name starting with a space may possibly lead to trouble, like with some system tools.

Hope this helps

Jürgen

ok good to know. Still odd coz like i mentioned this seems to have happend in the past too sometimes, so still wonder why you seem  to have had older .exe version with newer installs, but also cud be i made an error ofcourse (i like now have to maintain source code for each test version i send out, this is needed to be able to debug the reports, which i needed some getting used to so to speak, so i might have made an error here nd there switching from debug/release mode etc nd all possible compile options while making a new setup occasionally :). Have not had much new reports, or many at all tbh, so looks ok for now, so much so that i've started making some other goodies :)

br,
jack
edit: oh nd btw that new exe shoud also have the 'AR' fix talked about (ar switch options at smartosd settings for options, dbl-clk)

Tested quickly and looks OK as well.

Of course, more testing will follow, whenever I find some time.

Thanks a lot

ok, I don't know if I am the only one. I am testing the 30-11 version and scanning does not work correctly using tevii or TTs2. Using the exact same settings as for 0.25. After reaching the switch frequency 1170000, I am getting mostly a "no signal" message on 0192. For 11670 H and 11686V on Astra I got the same channels for some reason. Unusual characters in channnel names also appear. Any idea?
