Sound/Lautstärke-Problem
« am: 30 April, 2014, 13:11 »
Hi,

Arbeits.- Testrechner :

Hi,

I would also suggest to try a different audio renderer if possible (i wurde auch ein andere audio renderer probieren), sometimes non directshow renderers (without 'directshow' at the start of the anme) produce louder volume. Ffdshow also allows adjusting the volume boundries through it settings (video context menu, right mouse click on the video window, filters > ffdshow should give you the ffdshow settings dialog).
You could also try AC3Filter which sometimes is also able to produce louder volume if needed through it's settings.

Hi,
On the Asus P5B i have an integrated sound chip called "SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio". I remeber the audio driver setup.exe wanted to install some useless audio optimising crap tools, which caused problems with the sound. My solution was to delete everything from Soundmax and reinstall only the according driver manually with the device manager (Gerätemanager). After that the audio configuration is controlled by Windows Control Panel (Systemsteuerung).

If you click the speaker symbol in the info panel and after that click "Mixer", the Main Volume (Device: Speaker (Gerät: Lautsprecher)) and Smartdvb should be on maximum level?

Do you use AC 97 or HD Audio in BIOS? HD Audio detects devices on front and back panels and tries to classify them as speakers or headphones. Maybe that could cause such Volume issues, too.

My audio settings in SmartDVB -> DirectShow -> Connection:
Audio decoder: Microsoft DTV-DVD Audio Decoder (LAV audio decoder is also ok)
Audio renderer: Default DirectSound device (usually DirectSound: Lautsprecher (SoundMAX integrated ...))

Greetings
