Die Firma hinter ubuntu stellt das (bis jetzt) closed-source Server Backend für den filesync Client [wiki]Ubuntu One[/wiki] ein. Bis Anfang August 2014 werden alle Daten der User gelöscht.  Gute Nachricht ist aber, dass die Software endlich als Open Source veröffentlicht wird, was Canonical jetzt angekündigt hat:

Wenn Canonical es richtig macht wird man damit sich dann seinen eigenen "Cloud sync Server" hosten können. Clients gibts schon für Win Mac / iOS Android und co. Der Server Teil wird jetzt dann veröffentlicht und wenn der Code es wert ist werden alle viel besser davon profitieren können, ich bin also guter dinge  :jb
