Hallo,
habe eine Karte (DVB Sky DVB - S/S2) . laüft mit Smartdvb 5.0 sehr gut. NUR das CI Modul wird nicht erkannt. (Failed resetting cam). Habe es mit verschiedenen device Types versucht aber ohne Erfolg.
Für Eure Hilfe bin ich dankbar

ich selbst habe keine Erfahrung mit CI-TV-Karten. Aber für diejenigen hier, die dir evt. weiterhelfen könnten, solltest du mindestens die TV-Karte (950C PCIe oder 950C USB?) sowie das verwendete CAM benennen! Umso mehr Info, desto besser die Antworten.
Über CAMs weiß ich nur, dass man sie auch mal falsch rum in einen Receiver stecken kann, und sie dann nicht erkannt werden. Das könntest Du vielleicht als erste Fehlerquelle überprüfen, falls sich dies bei den TV-Karten ähnlich verhält.

vielen Dank für Deine Antwort. Nehme gerne deine Anregung an und gebe nähere Informationen:
Ist PCIe und eine BIS Tv Karte (Frankreich)ist zu aktivieren. Es ist auch kein Fehler wie - Falschherum drin, da mit dem mitgelieferten DVBViewer alles funktioniert. Auch hatte ich DVB Sky angeschrieben. Die haben mir ein paar Dateien geschickt mit denen ich - bin kein Programmierer - nichts anfangen kann.

Du könntest ja mal auf die Idee kommen, uns die Bezeichnungen der erhaltenen Dateien mitsamt ihren Endungen mitzuteilen.
Du suchst eine Lösung für ein Problem in einem Detail, solltest daher alle Details dazu liefern, derer Du habhaft werden kannst. Dazu gehört dann auch die genaue Bezeichnung des CAM.
Der Entwickler von SmartDVB liest allerdings nur unregelmäßig hier mit, insofern wird auch etwas Geduld nötig sein.

Es scheint bisher noch keinen CI Support für SkyDVB Karten in SmartDVB 0.5.0 zu geben: http://www.smartdvb.net/bb/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1174
Deshalb funktioniert es wohl mit dem DVBViewer (DVB Sky Player), aber leider nicht mit SmartDVB.
EDIT: Da kann ich Jürgen nur zustimmen: Warum so sparsam mit den Details?

Ich bewege mich auf einem Gebiet, in dem ich noch viel zu lernen habe,
Also erzähle ich die ganze Geschichte.
Vor langer Zeit habe ich im Smartdvb Forum nachgefragt. Fred: "smartdvb mit Skydvb S950c und CI" und DIES IN ENGLISCH. Ich habe dann auch die bereits erwähnten Dateien an Smartdvb geschickt. Genauer gesagt, mein Sohn hat es gemacht. Er hatte ja geschrieben, daß er wenig Zeit hätte und daher habe ich gewartet. Ist aber nichts passiert.
Habe dann dieses Forum gefunden, wo ich meine Fragen (und die Antworten) auf deutsch stellen kann.
Zitat aus o.g. Fred: "He send me a BST_BDAExt Hdatei, BST BDA Manual, BST main.cpp. What is that?"
Im Manual unter Punkt 3 wird vom CI Modul gesprochen. Da bin ich aber überfordert.
ich behelfe mich seit langer Zeit mit dem DVB Viewer, der nicht so mein Ding ist. Smartdvb nutze ich für die unverschlüsselten Sender. Ist ein bissel lästig!

ich habe am PC auch jahrelang ein CIM-Modul genutzt für Premiere/SKY. Als SKY Deutschland eine proprietäre CAM (die nicht mit PC-TV-Karten kompatibel ist) vor 2 Jahren einführte, habe ich das CIM leer gelassen.
Meine Erfahrung war mit SmartDVB eigentlich sehr gut in der CIM/CAM-Erkennung. Leider hat irgendwann nach der 0.3.0 Version
mein SmartDVB den Geist aufgegeben und war nicht mehr zum starten zu bewegen. Der Grund liegt wohl in der diffizilen Struktur meiner TV-Karte (Dual S2-Tuner, siehe Signatur). Die eingesandten Fehlerprotokolle hat Jack unbeantwortet gelassen, so dass ich heute noch nicht weiss woran es liegt. Aber der Mann hat ja weisss Gott viel zu tun, so dass ich es nachvollziehen kann.
Ich persönlich fühle mich sehr wohl mit dem DVB-Viewer. Hast Du eigentlich die Vollversion (15 €) oder die mit der Karte mitgelieferte "kastrierte" Version? Das ist mir nicht ganz klar. Die eingeschränkte Version des Viewer finde ich nämlich auch nicht sooo toll.

Hast Du mal Device Settings -> Device type: TBS ausprobiert? Das funktioniert jedenfalls für FreeTV mit der S950. Vielleicht funzt die TBS CI API zufällig mit deiner S950C?

@nemo: as the others replied, the current CI support is limited to TBS CI support only. Extending CI support is something that is planned, and has been held back and thus underdeveloped, mostly as i've never found a CI module useful here in a local setting (dutch) and i don't have company testing resources as perhaps other applications like DVBViewer. It's one of the shortfalls of the app at the moment and i do intend to improve support there in the near future (including CAM menu support and other devices like DVBSky). Of course i will be partly depending on external tester for this.
@ritschibie: hi how are you doing? What is the latest SmartDVB version you tried with regards to your TBS setup? Recent version do have general bda.dev fixes and stability improvements, but i'm not sure if these would address your exiting issues there.

coming back to your question: the last smartDVB version I installed was 0.5.0. I hoped that this version could overcome an issue with smartDVB which had arisen one year ago. The installation (as far as I could see) went smoothly. I doubleclicked the icon which referred to smartdvb in the x86 program folder (ver 0.5.60). The prog starts and opens the menu (showing the "das Erste" program but no picture). After estimated 1 (one) second the program stops with an error message. I did this again today and sent you the tracker files as of 19:00 hours approx..
I'm guessing a config error (what else could it be?) but have no means as per now to solove the problem.

Ich meinte eigentlich @nemo mit meiner Idee. Er ist ja derjenige mit der DVBSky S950C. Du hast eine TBS Karte. Da wäre ich sowieso von eingestelltem TBS Device type ausgegangen.
Nochmals ein Versuch, meine Idee zu erläutern:
Ich habe (schon vor Jahren und jetzt auch wieder mit der 0.5.0) festgestellt, dass meine DVBSky S950 mit dem TBS Device type genauso einwandfrei funktioniert wie mit dem DVBSky/Benustar Device type, natürlich bezogen auf die hiesige DiSEqC 1.0 Sat-Anlage (siehe Signatur). Nemo sein Kärtchen entspricht einer DVBSky S950, hat aber zusätzlich ein CI auf der Platine und wird daher S950C genannt, also mit dem großen Zeh. :fr
Deshlab schlage ich nun vor, er könnte ja auch mal Device type TBS einstellen, um erstens zu schauen, ob FreeTV ebenfalls perfekt läuft, und zweitens testen, ob sein CI damit vielleicht funktionieren tut. Wenn es funzt, kann er sich freuen, falls nicht, dann eben nicht. In jedem Fall würde ich mich freuen, die ganze Geschichte lesen zu dürfen. ::)

@ritschibie: hi Richard. Is your device the TBS 6522? Assuming so (if i have the wrong log files you can always note the file name or save the file and send it explicitly to me in some other manner, mega.nz or whatever, or note the name of the archive so i can find it more easily), i see some strange quartz.dll exception from the logs. quartz.dll is directshow related. I also see in the logs you have VMR7 configured on windows 10. I would certainly not recommend using VMR7 on windows 10, better use EVR on W10. To start the program without the initial tune to prevent the exception, start SmartDVB.exe and press and hold the SHIFT key while the program is starting, this should prevent the initial tune and possibly the graph related exception. After this go to your connection dialog (video window context menu > connection) and change the renderer from VMR7 to EVR. I see from the logs you're using LAV codecs otherwise, these should cause no issues. If the app starts and tunes without an exception now we'll continue from there.

Hi Jack,
Thks for your kind help! It worked and I could connect to the program menu. My TBS 6991 SE Dual CI had evidently filter problems. After a bit of fummeling around it worked on Astra with mostly ffd filters now.
Am I wrong or is the 0.5.0 now with fewer bda devices? For the TBS the "Florian", "client" and "Crazy Cat" devices work.
One problem however is setting to the 2nd tuner (Hotbird, the other one is Astra). I won't get a valid signal from hotbird (i.e. a picture). Scanning the frequencies therefore is fruitless. Maybe I will have to fumble around in the satellite settings? I tried all combinations of "simple" Diseq 1 and 2 settings: no success.

könnte man es als Frage an alle interpretieren und bei der "Enträtselung" einer log-Datei fühlen sich die wenigsten hier angesprochen, da wir keine Programm-Entwickler sind ;)

In channels und scan current freq. List ---- Hier hast Du die Möglichkeit nur die Frequenzen zu aktivieren , die du brauchst. Wird dann sehr übersichtlich und Du hast keine 1000 Sender in der Liste.

I found something curious. When I open a channel (example AB1) that needs ci in the dvbviewer and then close the viewer –-- and then open Smartdvb it works !
I send the two bda logs (two freds higher)

Glad it worked out ritschibie, TBS ci support is still there (i remember you used technotrend before?) but cannot guarantee if it will work on your dual CI devile setup. I think current versions should default to EVR on W10 systems so hopefully that VMR7 error you encountered should not happen with new releases/betas (i don't think vmr7 is really supported on W10 anymore)
@nemo: thanks for the logs, but i think trying the current TBS support for dvbksky is fruitless. DVBSky tuner is a benustar implementation i've quickly made a patched bda.dev which tries to send ci channel information to a dvbsky CAM, i'm not sure if it will work though:

Please backup your previous bda.dev before trying this one. And make sure you are using the latests version on my site (0.5.0.60). Make sure dvbsky/benustar is selected in your bda.dev device settings (tools > device settings). I cannot guarantee it is compatible with the 60 build, so please make sure you backup your previous bda.dev.
I'm currently also busy with a 64 bit build of the app which is almost ready for public release/beta testing. If anyone here already wants to have a look at this x64 build just drop me a pm.
edit: btw ritschibie you're right the old bdas.dev is not installed by default as it's device support is lacking compared to bda.dev. It still is installed by the installer in the transcoder folder if i remember correctly. You should be able copy this file to the devices folder if bdas.dev is required for some reason.

No chance of working either with tbs or current DVBSky device settings. The patched bda tries to send DVBSky ci channel data but not totally sure of the format the benustar cards require

first I want to say, that I tried out most of the devices. Some work only with Lnb1 others with both lnbs.
When I send the logs, I did not realize that I was on a wrong device - Sorry

Yes I had the TT-Connect S2 3650 CI. I was not unhappy with the card itself but the space it required outside the PC led me again to a slot-card.
Unfortunetaly - for the time being - I cannot test the CI functionality on smart 0.5.0 because I have no pay tv card at hand. Everything else runs smoothly under "Florian" ;)
The next thing to do will be to substitute the 13.0 ini frrom 2014 (stocked in the setup files) with a newer one.

@ritschibie i know the current version transponder lists are quite outdated. I've recently updated the lists which should be available with the current x64 test builds.

excuse me, I was short in time.
I tested the new bda , - It does not work. It deleted some data of DvbDream.
But I had the chance to buy a TBS 6928.
I installed it in the running Smartdvb ( Tools devices – then: Configure Frequentcy list then in device settings - I dried all TBS device types). The cam was not found.
I deleted smartdvb comletely – also in AppData\ local\Smart.
Then I installed it. -- New channel list etc...
Device type Tried all TBS cam was not found.
I restarted smartdvb with device type automatic detection (tbs5925): Cam was found – Crypted programs work - but in – settings – ci reset cam – failed.
(TBS 5925 Wrong number and in device tye not found?)
Cam is found but some - not only crypted - tv chanels need a lot of time to start.

I have now TWO cards in my computer, the DVB Sky and the TBS 2928. I can try different bda s.

Du arbeitest doch gerne mit dem DVB VIewer. Ich benutze diese Teil auch . Habe den Eindruck die Umschaltzeiten bei Smartdvb seien schneller.

Thanks again for your report nemo. I'll be researching what might still be wrong with your DVBSky 950c ci access. I presume you still get the same error in the logs?
TBS ci access wil only work with the 'tbs new interfaces' selected in bda device settings. The automatic 5925 selection uses these new interfaces and should work correct as you noticed so don't worry about it. If you send me a bda.log after selecting and tuning your tbs6928 I'll change the code so your device type is indicated instead of 5925, but thats just a cosmetic issue as you noticed
