Alternate Pic View is a program that enables you to view image files and make some adjustments. It supports multiple formats, including BMP, JPG, PCX, TGA and WMF.

The interface of the application is familiar and easy to work with. Images can be imported with the help of the file browser or 'drag and drop' method. So, you can use some basic editing tools, such as line, arrow, rectangle, freehand, fill, text and pen, along with the undo and redo functions. But you can also zoom in and out, switch to full screen mode, create a slideshow, enable thumbnail view mode, crop a selection and make Alternate Pic View retain the EXIF/IPTC information.

Alternate Pic View allows you to apply several effects to the pictures; they revolve around rotation, mirror, flip, invert, sharpen, blur, contrast, brightness, pixelization, noise and red eye removal, just to name a few.

The graphic editing tool supports keyboard shortcuts and multiple languages for the interface, has a good response time and contains user documentation. We have not come across any issues throughout our testing; Alternate Pic View did not freeze, crash or pop up error dialogs throughout our testing.  Thanks to its intuitive layout, less experienced users can easily find their way around this app.

Bitte, das Programm sollte nicht mit einem stupidem Dubletten Finder Programm verwechselt werden, das Programm generiert grafische Signaturen und vergleicht diese auf Pixel Basis, aber nicht nur dass, Sie können auch gedrehte, gespiegelte und negative Bilder finden, auch wenn z.B. das Bild in der Größe (Abmessung) verändert wurde. (Was man ja nicht selten macht, wenn das Bild vom Smartphone, oder iPhone kommt).

nomacs is a free image viewer licensed under the GNU Public License v3. It is small, fast and able to handle the most common image formats. Additionally it is possible to synchronize multiple viewers. A synchronization of viewers running on the same computer or via LAN is possible. It allows to compare images and spot the differences (e.g. schemes of architects to show the progress).

New setting File Handling - Copy/Move/Reject - Enable quick copy/move to subfolder
When enabled, new item [New subfolder..] will appear in File - Copy/Move and context menu - Copy/Move menus.
If selected, dialog with subfolder name request (and optional history checkbox) will pop-up.
Subdolder with specified name will be created in current folder (if not created before), than selected files will be copied/moved to that subfolder.
Enable History checkbox will turn on subfolder names history (not saved anywhere in settings, so cleaned on FRV restart). Use down arrow key (or mouse) to access history list, or just start typing to find most relevant history item.
Windows: new hiddend setting 'Bottom bar font in pixels', use NoBottomBarFontPixels.reg/UseBottomBarFontPixels.reg scripts to change from default. This feature is intended for dual-monitor systems with very different resolution (e.g. 4k and FullHD), when OS is unable to deliver resolution change data to application correctly (some versions of Win10 in specific cases). Most users do not need this.
New preferences setting File Handling - Sorting and Filtering - Ignore dashes and apostrophes on file/folder sort.
Controls file/folders sort order if punctuation symbols are used in names.
Windows: default is ON, to match sort order in Windows Explorer (but not Adobe Lightroom)
Mac: default is OFF, to match both Finder and Adobe Lr sort orders. Filmstrip allowed to Right dock area New method of Grid view thumbnail margin calculations to better handle folders with small file count. Preferences - Grid/Filmstrip - 'Single keys work for multiple files too' option is now ON by default. Folders panel: new Reverse sort order option (does not affect drive order list on Windows); Sort & Filter: sort by file size/file modification time works much faster now because it reads all metadata on folder open Read-Only (Windows)/ Locked or Read-Only (Mac) files support:

Most cameras allows to 'protect' images in camera. When files are imported from flash card to computer, this translates into:

Read-Only attribute on Windows
Locked (UF_IMMUTABLE) attribute on Mac.

FastRawViewer supports this flag now:

Grid and Filmstrip: new option 'Show Locked/Read-only status' (Mac)/'Show Read-only status' (Windows) in Grid/Thumbnail options ('Gear') menu.
If enabled (ON for Grid, Off for Filmstrip by default), padlock icon will be show in the top-right corner of thumbnail area for Locked/RO files.

Sort&Filter Panel:

Read-only files (Windows) / Locked/Read-Only (Mac) checkbox will appear on Files/Metadata filter box section if some locked/RO files are present in current folder.
If checked, only Locked/RO files will be visible in Grid/Filmstrip.
Read-only files first (Windows) / Read-only/Locked files first (Mac) option in Sort menu. If checked, RO/Locked files will appear first in Grid/Filmstrip view (or last, if Reverse sort option is checked too).
Copy/Move/Move to _Rejected: file attributes are preserved.
For RAW+JPEG pairs only RAW file status is checked.
(Mac only) Preferences - Copy/Move/Reject - Allow move/reject for locked files (default is off): Locked files are not movable on OS X, only copy allowed. If this option is checked, FRV will remove Locked flag before move, and will restore it back after move, allowing move/reject locked files.
Menu - File - Clear _Rejected: if 'Delete read-only files too' is checked in confirmation dialog, then
Windows: all attributes (e.g. hidden, system) are cleared before file removal.
Mac: locked flag and read-only permissions are cleared before file removal.
Metadata read for folder sort/filtering is about 2x faster on fast (SSD) drives
New option: XMP - 'RAW+JPEG mode: embed XMP block into JPEG' (default: off) - if it set to on, both XMP-sidecar for RAW file and embedded block for associated JPEG will be recorded on any XMP-changing action.
If off, only XMP-sidecar will be recorded. Embedded block contains complete XMP block (i.e. exposure/WB/contrast too), not only rating/label, so it can be extracted from JPEG and used with RAW file.
Debug log: better handling of different character sets; log files are saved in UTF8
Data maximum calculation: allow up to 0.002% of hot pixels

Bugs fixed:

XMP files with Label set to 5th custom label was read incorrect (no label parsed).
If thumbnail cache size is too small to keep all thumbnails in current folder, file metadata cache may expire too during thumbnail cache cleanup.
Fujifilm X-Trans: histogram normalized to per-channel pixel count
Fixed command-line processing in non-local character sets (e.g. Thai locale and Greek filename).

ArtSage (formerly ArtSee) is an image viewer that displays the image files in a folder tree. It packs lots of options and features in a tiny executable, including slideshow, layout, collage, transitions etc. It supports BMP, EMF, GIF, ICO, JPG, PNG and TIF files. It is excellent in creating an automated slideshow, where the EXE is placed together with all the images to be displayed on the storage media (CD, USB memory stick etc.). Launching the EXE will immediately display the images in slideshow mode.
